Andy Reid is one of the best if not THE best coach in the NFL right now... look at what he has done with the talent he has, it really is nothing short of remarkable. He is a great personnel guy and great at keeping his team focused... Alot of talented players have left that team because of cap restrictions and the FA trying to keep the salaries low to pay off the rent for the construction of that new stadium, yet Reid finds ways to plug guys in even when their drafts are hardly outstanding. I gag at the fact that I am fawning over this guy right now but he really is that good. People need a reality check.

Not only will every team with a young QB want him, almost every team will try to make a play at him.

I agree and I think Jeff Fisher's in the same category. Speaking of Fisher, did he ever sign a long term extension? Anyone know?

Reid is pretty good. I wouldn't praise him too much, though. His offense relies way too much on the pass. Even with that fact he has, for the most part, neglected to get McNabb any real help at receiver. TO and Stallworth have both come and gone. I understand letting TO go, but I would have kept Stallworth around. He mismanaged his draft this year. Kolb? Trading within the division and letting a rival get back into the first round?

I mean if you look at the big picture his team has faired pretty well since Mcnabb came into the picture, but he does do a lot of little things wrong.

I'm thankful to have him as the head coach for the Eagles.

They have a system down that has been consistent since 1999.

The Eagles aren't one of those teams that have to hire a new coach every 2-3 years like the Cardinals, Browns etc.

Not sure, though I know they picked up the last year of his contract... I am sure they are working on keeping him if they haven't done so already

I don't really know a whole lot about Jeff Fisher; what is so great about him? I know he is the silent type, and it has been awhile since they were winning ( I don't really count last year since Vince Young won about three games for them just by moving his feet around)

Is he the same as Reid?

I won't argue he is a great personnel man, and he did a great job last year finishing the season with Garcia. But, when he had all his ducks in a row, and was in the Super Bowl, HE failed to manage the clock, and allowed the clock to beat him. I don't think he is a great coach, maybe very good, but his inability to control or coach McNabb in those close games has cost him a couple of championships.

Absolutely 1000 percent right about his coaching in the SB, and also not to forget the debacle in the end of the Saints' playoff game... I forgot what he did; I think it was another mismanaging of the clock situation where he called a timeout and blew the game when Deuce got the first down and let the clock run out because the Eagles were out of TO's... That was one terrible call, because he basically left the season and possibly greater things on the field by allowing a bad run defense which hadn't stopped a granite block from gaining yards to try and stop Deuce... If I were an Eagles fan I would still be livid about it.

I would still want him as a coach nonetheless; to me he is like a more advanced model of BP; he knows how to get players ready, though it seems like he can't really call offensive plays very well, because when Reid handed the playcalling duties to Marty morningweg the offense really surprised me and became a legit WC offense, which is one of the worst to defend against when executed properly. I am glad Mcnabb is back at QB, he can't run it properly hehe.

The state of Pennsylvania has a lot of patience with their head football coaches.

People make fun of him b/c he is fat and sorta looks like a walrus. However, and 80-48 record combined with an 8-6 playoff record in an era of parity is outstanding.

Did you really mean to write that part??? 8-6 playoff record in parity era =outstanding?

At the same time, you have to wonder how long Reid can fail to win the big game, when he's generally credited with having one of the more talented rosters in the league, before management decides they need a new direction...

Or are they just happy with contending in Philly??

Probably as long as KC had Shottenheimer as their coach is about the same amount of time.

Andy Reid is "about" of a lot of things, but "done" is certainly not one of them!

Generally credited with having one of the more talented rosters in the league, by whom? and when? Certainly not before the start of each season, by anyone.

One thing that bothers me about Reid and the Eagles organization is what I perceive to be a 'cutthroat' mentality when it comes to their players.

My view is that the Eagles lack the loyalty to their veteran players that other teams have.

When players hit a certain age, they're simply jettisoned with little regard to their contributions to the franchise.

Very few players seem to retire as 'career Eagles'.

I'm wondering if Eagles' fans view things the same way or if this is something that bothers them as well.

I'm sure I can count on you to never type anything on this board ever again that criticizes a Cowboy fan posting past accomplishments.

2000. 2002. 2004. If you feel good about Reid now, that's fine, but do you see him being lauded as Coach of the Year for 2007 or leading the Eagles to the NFC championship this season?

Let me rephrase that. Do you see Reid being named '07 Coach of the Year? I have no idea why I even asked about a conference championship game, as if.

Coach Reid certainly has "it" (it = the right stuff) to obtain another COY award, however, I don't believe that achievement is in his firing sights.

Additionally, Coach Reid has recently experience some domestic problems that I'm sure needs a portion of his focus. That said, I'm not certain that he is merely carrying out his duties until someone appropriate can be found to fill his shoes.

While I'm happy that Coach Reid is styill at the helm of the Eagles battleship, his situation demand watching.

'Domestic problems'? He's got problems at home? Wassup? Does he find his kitchen completely emptied of food each morning? That's a serious problem, but sleepwalking can be controlled under medical supervision.

That's a pretty funny quip. I would like to respond in kind, instead, allow me to commend your coach of his ability to maintain his svelte appearance.
