Is anyone here still not convinced about the Giants?

They got hot at the right time. Congrats to them, but I think the Cowboys beat them 9 times out of 10.

Problem is, the one we lose would be a Playoff game.

I predict a power shift, I think the NFC is back, the hogwash about inferiority was buried last night and I'll even go so far as to say the NFC East is back and will win out the decade as representative of the conference.

The Cowboys and Giants are going to win no less than 11 games for the next several seasons.

The Patriot dynasty ended last night just as they ended the Ram push at becoming one themselves, and the balderdash about them being the greatest ever is now permanently on ice.

Next year it will be Dallas and New York in the NFC Championship and San Diego and Jacksonville in the AFC Championship, those will be the final four in 2008.

I am convinced that they went on the road and beat all 3 division champs to get to the superbowl.

I am convinced that they went toe to toe with the best team in the NFL and came out on top in the end.

Therefore I am convinced that they are the superbowl champions and have earned the right to say they are the greatest team in 2007.

I am also convinced that I find myself jealous as well.

So yeah I am convinced.:)

Grats to all the Giant fans on board.

While I still think New England and Indy will still be in the mix next year for the AFC championship, i couldn't agree more. The NFC is back, and anyone that thinks otherwise is delusional.

As far as the Giants go, I wasn't particularly impressed until Sunday. They played a hell of a game. I still think we beat them 3 out of 4 times this year (and hopefully next), and that we've got the inside track for next year, but they aren't to be overlooked anymore.

It's the same drum I've been beating for at least a decade now..........(and I'm not the only one).

They did play good enough for the last few months, and good enough yesterday to get all the credit they deserve for the win. IMO, the defensive line should've gotten the "collective" MVP. No dig on Eli Manning, but THAT'S WHO won that game for the Giants. Congrats and good for them, they deserve it...............THIS YEAR.

This Giant win is yet another "chicken coming home to roost" in this watered down world of Free Agency, Salary Cap, and other "Parity" measures shoved down our throats 15 years ago. It was said back then, LOUDLY, that this is the end of the "dynasty's" and "great teams." And with the exception of the Pats, Colts, and maybe the Beagles of this early decade, we're getting now what we clamored for and bargained for.

Last year is was the "darling" Saints, the Bears, and a few others. Next year, it'll be the Cardinals, Detroit and Buffalo................This year, the Giants are the "poster boy" for "anyone who clicks, gets hot, and jells" at the right time (usually around November 1st) could literally win it all. WIth free agency and coaching carousels, every team goes into training camp just like an expansion team. A quarter, a third, even half the starters are new to the roster or position every year on many teams. No one knows what they got until halfway through the season.

If it pleases you to have an absolute "crap shoot" every year; and it watching a Browns vs. Atlanta SB is your idea of good football, than goody for you. If you think that this brand of football is good, then your a happy guy. I, on the other hand, DO NOT!! I think it sucks.
Taking nothing away from the Giants that you can't take away from Tampa, the Ravens, Seattle, etc, etc, etc....................But their not a "great" team or "dominant" or "era" team. No sustained greatness. Just this years lotter winner in a league of "who knows" and "whatever". Thank "parity" for that.

Sour grapes???? Oh yeah, HELL YEAH!! Of course I'm not pleased with Dallas going "one and done". But that alone isn't enough to sour me on this loosy-goosy league where it is now impossible to predict anything.
So this is the product that we end up with, the "could've been anyone" Giants just happening to be the team that "didn't give the win away" more than 31 other teams.

What a shame.......................

You're kidding me, right? They are a good team, who just had one of the most memorable wins in Superbowl history. Let's give them their props. During the regular season, they were beat by the Cowboys (twice), Packers and Patriots, and they beat each of those teams in the playoffs.

Having said that, they hardly dominated any of those games. They were a Roy Williams tackle on Amani Toomer (or a few timely Crayton catches) of an early exit. The Packers nearly beat them as well, and let's face it, if Hobbes doesn't fall down covering Burress, do the Giants score that TD yesterday?

They are hardly a dominant team, they are in fact a very beatable team that would probably rank in the bottom third of all-time Superbowl teams. They won the game, that's what it is all about, let's give them their props and call them Champions. But let's not pretend they're something they are not.

The giants won the SuperBowl. They are this year champions. Am I convinced? Hell yes!

I have nothing against the Giants...to me they are irrelevant...I don't like or dislike them, but they did what they had to do. And they did good.

Get over it...

They got hot and manning figured out he did not have to make a lot of plays. Pretty simple to me. They faced us and we came within about 3 drops and 1 overthrow of beating them by 2 TDs. Then Favre went back to his pickem days of a couple of years ago and gifted them with the NFC Championship. Then their D line played inspired and they also showed that the Pats D is not all that. Whether the Pats were worn down or got over confident or whatever, the giants got them at the right time. sort of like the Pats first SB win- they were not dominant or great they just were really playing well at the right time. The Rams were more talented and should have beaten the Pats easily; maybe Spygate showed itself there for the first time.
Any way you look at it the Giants are at best 3rd or 4th in the NFL= at BEST.

I'm convinced they're Super Bowl champs.

That's pretty much it.

I don't get this....they won the SB and all of a sudden they're the most feared team out there judging by the threads I'm reading.

I don't think we have to "catch" them at all. We're more talented now. They got hot at the right time.....we hit a rut.....

I don't want to diminish their win. It was impressive...their run was impressive. But I also don't want to diminish how good we're going to be. Their win only fueled my beliefs that we have a championship caliber team.

it sucks that we choked but the Giants played with more intensity than we did, their coaches ran their D more aggressively, and the Giants didn't turn the ball over or take stupid penalties - and they were better coached than we were....to say we are a better team now after what they did compared to what we did sounds a little classless and like sour grapes - almost like something I would expect Philly Fecal fans to say....like Fecal fans saying the Eagles are a better franshise than us despite their trophy case being empty.... The Gints earned the trophy, we didn't....nuff said...except it sucks.

Excellent post!

The AFC has been dominant for the last, what, 5 or 6 years? They had their fun...now the worm is going to turn!

Check it out...

They played NE tough at the end of the year, almost beating them, they beat Dallas on the road in the playoffs, then Beat Green Bay on the road in the playoffs and essentially beat NE on the road yesterday.

Time for some to wake up and give the team/coaches some credit - they did a great job finishing up a season that at one point, wasn't looking so hot.

I hate them, but I'm not blind. That defense was ferocious yesterday.

I don't see the Giants being a dynasty I think they just went out and played solid mistake free football and did a great job up front on defense.

They got hot at the right time and didn't make mistakes. Just like the Steelers did two years ago. They're not the most talented team in the league, but they did go on one hell of a run and beat arguably the best three teams in the league this year in the post-season. Props? Absolutely. Dynasty? Please.

The Giants will give us fits more than the E-gilrs and Commanders for a while now but it's not like we can't beat em, staying healthy or having quality depth is more the issue...

I'd saying taking our head out of our arse is the biggest issue that we have to overcome

I see Strahan pulling the same stunt as last year.... no TC and just play out the year and see if he can do an Elway.... (the Elway part is something he mentioned)
