Is Austin the new #1

He clearly is.

I was dead wrong about the guy. All he needed was a chance. He's seized his opportunity, and besides Witten, is our number one going foward.

It's clear that he's Romo's number one whenever Witten is not out there, and thats all that matters once the ball is snapped.

I was flat out wrong about Austin. I thought Hurd was a better player.

Pfffft.

..new number 1...deep threat...Roy is our possesion Receiver

Crayton is our possession receiver - don't really know what good Roy is - blocks downfield okay - maybe we can convert him to TE.:laugh1: :(

All three players will play best when this happens;

1. Miles Austin
2. Roy Williams
3. Patrick Crayton

You can even say 4. Kevin Ogletree, but that's not as relevant at this point. Fact is, Miles Austin is a playmaker and would be the starting receiver on most teams with that much talent, he's earned it on ours. Roy Williams will play great at #2, he won't have to go against the starting cornerbacks and if Miles Austin keeps this up, teams are going to start doubling him, not saying it'd change his performance, but they'd try it. It'd give RW more opportunities. And Crayton has a good role at the slot.

Keep him at the #2 spot, but we all know that Austin will be the first read, this way Williams ego isn't hurt.

who cares what RW ego is like sit him for couple games

sorry all you nay sayers I knew Austin was a player - I been saying that for three years now - just needs the experiece

Or better yet, sit him for the rest of the season or at least until he gets a new attitude. I really want his influence out of the team - even more than I wanted TO's influence. We need this to become Romo's team and if Roy is pouting and crying to Garrett, it is going to make it harder.

I wouldn't mind if Ogletree started getting some reps so he'll be ready to contribute more next year. This is more easily accomplished with Roy in street clothes.

Olgetree is more likely to be off the roster than contribute next year.

I disagree - he has decent hands and speed and makes good cuts - all the makings of a good possession receiver to complement Austin and Crayton.

Miles Austin is built like Ricky Williams below the waist. He can flat out make em miss their tackles. In addition to speed, he can shred tacklers. RW cannot do either. RW is very good at making like Michael Irvin and indicating a first down. Oh, yes but there is one problem. He doesn't catch first downs on any regular basis. He need to shut up and play ball and stop acting like he is something better than he is. a journeyman wide out.

Miles has had several nice games but I cannot annoint him no. 1 just yet. Right now we have none!!!

I really wish we had a Glenn type receiver. That would compliment Austin even more that a good Roy Williams will.

Maybe we will be lucky enough to get Jacoby Ford in the draft

There's no doubt... He is the clear an unequivocal #1.

At least we have a great downfield blocker in our #2.

most in NFL history for a receivers first two starts.

He's got to be close to the record for any two consecutive games. He has the franchise record for that, but someone on another team probably had more than 421.

Nope, I hope Hurd saved his money. Jerry has the same man love for Ogletree he had for Stanback.
