Is Ball a RT only?

Everyone sure liked him. I hoped he would be good. We kept him around.

The practice and preseason action against the Broncos was his first action against an NFL team. Let's see how he adjusts the rest of the way. He's basically a rookie.

This can't be said enough.

He should be considered a redshirt freshman... he got a year to sit and watch practice, and maybe some very limited strength and conditioning until he was full-go.

The time you're willing to give the linemen we just drafted is the time we need to give Ball.

He was terrible. Even with his hands on guys, seemed like everyone was able move him

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early to make that call.

See what, if any, progress is made from game to game.

Weaknesses in draft profile were on full display against the broncos
  • Overly responsive with pass sets and mirroring.
  • Needs to work with better inside/out leverage.
  • Opens himself up to inside counters.
  • Late weight shift to outside foot at the top of his sets.
  • Could use more diversity in his punch approach.
  • Weight gets too far forward in pass sets.
  • Doesn't always center up when fitting into first contact.
  • Could use better play strength at point of attack
Ball played 10 games at RT in college and 8 games at LT. Raw prospect with lots of character red flags.

Steele isn't having a good camp either. He's only out of the media crosshairs b/c Ball is so bad he's getting all the attention
