And Vinny didn't? Vinny had to overcome far larger deficits last year. And Bledsoe has failed twice to lead us back, once with the Skins and now with the Raiders. I'm not knocking Bledsoe and saying Testaverde was a far better QB. They're both bus drivers. They both had strong arms. Their both temporary stop gaps. I don't see much improvement with one or the other.

Wrong on both counts.

Bledsoe is not a bus driver. He isn't made that way. Which is why our offense is struggling. Forcing someone to be what they aren't is asking for disaster.

And Vinny's arm is no where near as strong as Bledsoe's. It might have been 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago...but he is old, now. Grandpa old.

We would be 0-4 right now with Vinny. Simple as that. That should answer your question.

Jeez, one week he is a demi god, the next he needs to be cut

Drew played great today, its not his fault that he got ZERO pass protection today

Bledsoe played great?

What game were you watching HH?

We also lost the game because Bledsoe locked onto a slow ineffective Key all game long. Witten could have had a career day today.

Im not sure if you can blame that on Key though. Key is the playmaker on this team and you gotta wonder if those plays were designed for him.

I agree that Witten could have had a big night. He lit it up in the 1st half of the Niners game and then they totally took him out of the offense in the 2nd half.

Carter, Vinny and Bledsoe are all the same in this offence......some can do things a little better then othes....but at the end of the day....its all the same.....

This offence just plays to get field position and not make mistakes....it plays scared....it doesn't attack....its a very passive offence geared to run the ball and make as few mental mistakes as possiable.

Both Carter and Vinny lead us back to victories......Carter beating the Giants was a great comeback. But that is how Bill plays offence.....run...run....field position....rely on your D.....and if it gets out of hand....open up the offence.....In the end....it evens out.

You don't win games playing scared........Bill wants a tough team.....show some confidence in them....game plan something......make some adjustments....put some wrinkles in......

All Ive seen is......play it safe.....throw in a trick play here and there....and hope everything goes right the rest of the game......

Fellas, Oakland figured out how to play us today. The worst pass defense in the league kept Bledsoe down all day long. It's only gong to get worse from here on out. You take those receivers away (which ain't hard with out roster of #2s as Michael Irvin likes to call it) and Bledsoe looks like a lost puppy dog out there. I thought he was over this. Parcells was so proud of Bledsoe proclaiming how much he used Coates, but Bledsoe has lost it, if this is what we can expect the rest of the year. Could have been better blocking, but there were some wide open passes to our tight ends and running backs all game long. Bledsoe only wants to make the big plays to his receivers.

Isn't that exactly what Vincenzo did all last year?

This sorta happened to Bledsoe 3 years ago in Buffalo. Defenses figured out Bledsoe and that was it.

Bledsoe did not have a good day- and he was due after 3 straight good ones.
But the O line did not play well at all- either run or pass blocking. We should have scored and won the game at the end there- but did not. We did not play well enough to deserve to win.

Oakland is not that good- but we made them look that way today.

I knew it wouldn't take long for some of these people to try and blame Bledsoe for our ineffectiveness.

Yet somehow, Julius still gets a bye........

JJ is not the back he was last year. Maybe the extra weight is a factor; more likely its the dumba** coaching from BP - harping on the NEGATIVE plays bs. OK- we are not having as many negative plays- bet we are also NOT HAVING BIG PLAYS. ARE YOU SATISFIED BP?

No doubt Bledsoe is better than VT.

But they have to let him try downfield before the 4th quarter. No more run, run , pass attempt incomplete , punt the first 3 quarters. Then start passing deep with 7 minutes to go anymore.

He's not going to have a comeback victory every game, it's just not going to happen.

He's not that much better than Vinny. Go back and check Vinny's stats through the first 4 games last year. They were excellent.

Maybe because Parcells was pass happy last year? Because we were game planning like we didn't have a running back...

Vinny wasn't as bad as some claim, but he was never as good as Bledsoe is now.

Yeah, Vinny's stats were impressive between the 20's but not that great in the Red Zone.

How can you guys actually think Vinny is an upgrade over Bledsoe?

Was Bledsoe on the field trying to defend Santana Moss when he blew by our defense twice? If that doesnt happen, we pitch a shutout.

Bledsoe brought us back when we were losing to the horrible 49ers when the defense struggled mightily and again it was filled with questionable play calling.

Sorry, I was right there with most when I hated the Bledsoe signing, and I just cant find a way to point the finger at the guy.

Again, he cannot make Parcells/Peyton attack a weak Raiders Secondary. Somebody needs to send Peyton and email or something to remind him not to forget about his All-Pro Tight End in the second half. It happened during the Niners game and it probably happened again tonight.

The Coaching staff needs to be upgraded.

I will pretty much say it, this team is the worst team in the NFC East, I beleive the Giants, Eagles and probably the Skins are better than us at this point. We have the personell but the Coaching Staff is dropping the ball here and that is why it is so frustrating.

If you would have told me Moss would have no touchdowns and only a handful of catches, I would tell you we win this game.

Bledsoe will be there.

Our defense must improve, and they will.

I worry about our running game though.

To go along with his 3 interceptions?

Actually, only 1 int is really his fault. On one the receiver had it picked away from him as he was pulling it in and another was a hail mary. And 1 poorly thrown int through 4 games isnt bad.

Right now Bledsoe's annualized totals will be 4,400yds, 28tds, 12ints. Not bad for a cast-off.

Drew's rating is 96. Were it not for the hail mary INT and the TD called back, it would still be 103.

If he had a running back that could break 100 yards ONCE in FOUR GAMES he might be leading the NFL in rating.

AMEN!
