Is Bobby Carpenter underrated?

I believe a whole lot of people that's disappointed in Bobby Carpenter was expecting too much from the start which makes him undderrated but in others minds that is disappointed in his play considers him overrated.

As a 1st rd selection no he is not under rated and it is still a disappointment in terms of not getting allot out of him which you expect from a high pick. He is a nickel backer who is now starting to contribute and I'm very happy about that.

He should be starting and kicking ***, but instead we had to go out and sign Zach Thomas and Keith Brooking.

I believe Bobby Carpenter hasn't had the playing time until now. I believe he's a good linebacker that is capable of being great if given the chance. He's need the playing time to get fined tuned within the system.

He's a 1st rounder. If people would have known he would be as worthless as he has been, he would have went undrafted.

Expecting a top 20 pick to be able to take a starting spot over the course of a couple years isn't expecting too much.

Well, I could say this much, you don't see too many people catch on him when he's covering them. It's best not to hear about him gettin beat rather than him gettin a whole lot of critism from getting beat in coverage which is his strong point along with blitzing.

Good players aren't given chances, they make chances. They force their way into playing time.

He is not under rated. I am glad he is doing something this season and hope he continues to contribute in some way, but he is not under rated. I know longer judge him by his draft status. I judge him by what he does now.

As well as you and everybody else like myself should and that's what im doing. I believe the Cowboys should've drafted Manny Lawson but they decided to draft Bobby Carpenter who to me at the time seem like a second round draft prospect in my book. I didn't expect too much out of him.

I hope your right that with the playing time he is getting he will turn his career around. I think he is playing well right now but not great.

I like the guy and think he is a good character guy and would love nothing more than to see him get this career going. The more players we have going out making plays the better chance we have of making it to the show.

Im not saying that the first round spent on him wasn't a waste, knowing that the cowboys could've drafed Antonio Cromartie or Manny Lawson. But as far as the player productivity potential, I don't think the player is a waste. I believe it's a matter of time that Quarterback will try to throw it just to test his coverage skills and that's when what Im telling the fans right now come into play.

Any time you see Carpenter, he is missing a tackle and making a fool out of himself. It is embarrassing to watch him struggle. He got a sack when he was unblocked, and shooting the A gap on a 7 step drop. Great play. Time after time he is the guy getting juked and falling over in the most unathletic fashion possible. He is a complete liability on the field, and he is certainly not going to get a new contract.
