Is Brad Johnson causing problems already?

Brad Johnson isn't the only QB to ever say he didn't want to be a mentor to a younger QB. He probably won't be the last. It's not in his job description, so I wouldn't worry about it.

None of the quotes indicated that he wanted or even thought he could be the starter. That's quite a misleading title to the article.

I agree, and honestly I like him saying he isn't coming here just to be a backup. Let him make TRomo earn his job, which I think he will, and let Romo see what it takes to be the number 1 guy with everyone chasing HIS job. It can only keep him focused.

Sorry for my first post to be negative but this is odd!

Any QB who comes to a team with the intention of playing on the bench is noncompetitive deadwood.
Every coach wants a player with fire and conviction and confidence that he can start.
Having said that, Johnson realizes his days as a starter are over and he is here as a role player. But he can still dream. And being competitive with Romo will only help Romo.
