Well losing 16-9 would not be a blow out now would it?

I suppose losing 47-30 would have made you feel better.

Losing 47-30 would at least show the offense was not also a tire fire like the defense. Unless of course it was mostly scored late in the 4th.
One thing to see one unit play poorly. When both sides have played poorly, at it's happened a 2-3 times already this year, there's no real "bright spot"

I would like to see Dak and CDL playing well. 3-3 with the offense clicking at least would show hey only the defense needs some help and we should be getting a few guys back in the upcoming weeks.

Browns - Both offense and defense played well

Saints - Offense was good. 16 points in the first half. Defense allowed a TD every single possession until the 4th Quarter. You're gonna blame Dak for this? That INT was because Brooks fell down. A whole different game with a whole different playbook in the 2nd half if the defense made a few early stops.

Ravens - CD fumbled. Guyton had a holding call otherwise we get the ball at the 2 yard line. 2 TDs taken off the board otherwise we could've taken the Ravens down to the clutch, and we have the advantage in clutch games because of our kicker. Dak's fault? He moved the ball better than Allen against them - and threw for 400 yards, 2 TDs, and 0 Turnovers.

Giants - Ok the offense wasn't that great, but against the Giants they can afford an off day. Giants offense beats themselves. Even the godawful Bengals defense held them to 7 points so even if you blame this on Dak.... he won the game more impressively than Burrow who did nothing for 55 minutes.

Steelers - Offense did well. Moved the ball well. While Dak had a whole bunch of turnovers if he can muster up that much offense against the Steelers, I'll excuse some turnovers. This is the only one of 2 games (Browns) I think the defense played really well.

Lions - Both offense and defense were bad. I'm not explaining this away.

Is the below true? If so, what does it say about the Premise of this thread?

Dak is so elite, that Aubrey scored most the points in the last two games combined.

I feel sorry for those of you that thought we had a bright spot going into this year.

1 dimensional teams get dominated on both offense and defense against good balanced teams.

It is not rocket science.

If a defense only has to stop the run because you can't pass or vice versa their job is easy.

If an offense only has to run the ball because you can't stop it or vice versa, then their job is easy.

Their are most likely 8 teams in this league that will flat out dominate us how we are currently built. 8 teams that will make us look like a playoff team and another 8 that the game would be interesting. You can keep blaming Dak, Zimmer, MM or anyone else on the team if it makes you feel better.

So whether we like it or not depending on our schedule each year and injuries we are a .500 team, with the best marketing/PR team and the worst GM in the NFL. So, if you are susceptible to marketing, keep drinking the cool-aid.

We sucked in the playoffs last year. So what did we do to fix it. We paid CD and Dak more money.
Who really thought that was going to fix the problem???

We lost more talent than we added. We have a more difficult schedule. We have had more injuries.

GM Jethro's solution for next year will be to pay Micah more money. People complain about not winning with a rookie QB salary. How about a rookie CD salary or a rookie Micah salary???

This team is fundamentally built incorrectly by the GM. End of story.

I didn't think much of this season. It was memeing the Jones stupid phrases all offseason.

I don't disagree with your last sentence. Just thought the offense should of been better than what we've seen. Rookies on the OL and JAGs at receiver after CDL, still shouldn't be this poor. But it is Jerry's design at the end.

When you can't run, and the DLine is 100% in pass rush mode with a Nickel defense, it makes it more difficult to have success in the passing game. It forces you to get the ball out early and to check down in a 3 deep zone.

That is exactly how Micah and DQ made a living.

This is funny bc I don’t remember these games the same.
Browns- defense did the heavy lifting with very little help from the offense. Nobody really noticed bc offense wasn’t needed for the most part. The offense moved the ball twice for td’s:14 pts. The other pts were all field goals created by turnovers with little contribution from offense. 3 pts were directly from defensive interception. 3 pts from defensive turnover on downs. 7 from kickoff return. Summary:eek:ffense didn’t play bad but far from good.

Saints-everyone played bad out of Aubrey

Ravens-stats don’t tell the story that actually happened and would be required to look at stats in splits. The offense did nothing, didn’t help control clock, winded defense, and only had 6 pts going into the 4th quarter. That is when the ravens put in backups and went to prevent defense, and shut down the rush that Dak was struggling with. 28-6 going into 4th, the game was over. People just post the stats but failed to separate out the stats from the first 3 quarters vs 4th quarter. That would show the real story, did he quit, no. Yay give him a participation trophy.

Giants:eek:ffense still wasn’t great and still haven’t been good. That’s it and all that needs to be said.

Steelers:Dak had a bunch of turnovers and offense wasn’t very effective. Defense showed up and kept them in the game so Dak could finally convert on one game winning drive in his career. Of course he was the reason we needed a game winning drive but the defense is the reason he got a chance.

Lions:everyone played bad, but we knew the defense was going to struggle. Lions are high powered offense and we had multiple injuries. Dak brought a pocket knife to a gun fight.

How about this being funny.

On offense

Saints loss - 68 yards rushing - Dak had 12.
Ravens loss - 53 yards rushing - Dak had 7.
Lions loss 51 yards rushing

On defense

Saints ran for 243 yards
Ravens ran for 182 yards
Lions ran for 184 yards

I know, I know, I really do. Dak has to get better.

Your argument would work, except for the fact when we beat the stealers, I pointed out that we wouldn't win against the Detroit if we only have 6 points at that point in the third quarter. I pointed out that Detroit has a great offense, so great in fact that we had to hear Brady -- someone who knows great offenses -- keep bringing up how great they are. My point, which you trying to ignore, is that it doesn't matter if the defense would've gave the effort that they did against the Steelers, if the offense only scores 9 points. Also 16-9, aren't you asking a lot from a defense that had overachieved the previous week, and everyone on this board has been bemoaning that they were bad? I don't like losing at all, but if we lost 47-30 then I couldn't blame the offense. And again, the premise of the original thread is if Dak is Elite versus if Dak is good. Is you point that Dak is still elite despite only scoring 9 points, or that it should be excused because he had an off day? I'm not quite sure what you are arguing.
How about this.

Let's say one team rushes for 55 yards and the other team rushes for let's say 200 yards.

What team do you think wins the game?

I will even give you a special bonus question just in case you can't figure it out.

Is it the QB's fault if their team runs for 50 yards and the other team runs for 200???

Now go back and look at our losses.
