Is Dak officially the best QB in the NFC?

We know the AFC..... Burrow, Allen, Jackson, Mahomes

But before the year started we heard..... "besides Jalen Hurts, Dak should run this conference." With one more game left to play, it seems that's exactly how it played out. He ran the entire NFC top teams besides the Niners.

I get the argument for Purdy, but the Ravens game really shined some light on things. I don't think he's as good against good teams as 49ers fans like to say. He struggled against the Browns too. Plus, I put Dak over Purdy because his arm is stronger, and he's more built to last long. Purdy is kinda soft, and I don't think he's gonna last long. One more injury and he's probably done. Plus that 92 yard TD pass to Lamb.

Dak is 0-3 against Purdy the last 3 times the teams have played, and played really bad in each game. And you think Dak is better?

Guess we'll see how things turn out in a few weeks.

Every argument you made against Purdy you can make against Dak

It’s close between them. Purdy has much more help. Especially in the run game and on the sidelines
That might be true, but everyone says "Dak doesn't play well against great teams." That's not what people say about Purdy. In fact quite the opposite.

But it looks like both guys can have their good days against good teams. Dak with The Eagles and Lions. Purdy with the Cowboys and Eagles. Both can have their bad days against good teams. Dak with Bills and Niners. Purdy with Ravens and Browns.

I'm just reacting to what people generally say, as I believe it to be a fallacy.

Probably. It's laughable how terrible the NFC QBs are compared to the AFC QBs.

AFC top 8:

1. Mahomes
2. Burrow
3. Allen
4. Herbert
5. Lamar
6. Stroud
7. Tua
8. Lawrence

NFC top 8:

1. Dak
2. Purdy
3. Hurts
4. Goff
5. Stafford
6. Murray
7. Cousins
8. Mayfield

Anyone would take the top 8 from the AFC over anyone from the NFC.

I think right now he is. And this was the narrative ever since Rodgers left for the AFC and Brady retired.

Purdy is right there too.

I mean if you are going to hold the Ravens game against Purdy, shouldn't you hold say the Bills and 49ers games against Dak if one is trying to be as consistent and unbiased here?

I'm just saying people say Purdy plays well against great teams, while Dak doesn't play well against great teams. Both guys have had 2 stinkers against elite teams.

AFC (unranked):

1. Allen
2. Tua
3. Rodgers
4. Lamar
5. Burrow
6. Watson
7. Stroud
8. Richardson
9. Lawrence
10. Wilson
11. Mahomes
12. Herbert

You can argue about Rodgers and Wilson due to their age, Watson hasn't been great since joining Cleveland, and Richardson hasn't had enough time to flourish in Indy. But there are at least 8 guys you would take over anyone from the NFC.
I would not take an old Rodgers, any age Watson, Richardson, Lawrence, Wilson, or Herbert over Dak.

I would really have to be talked into Tua and want to wait and see about Stroud.

Purdy's 49ers lost to the not-so-great Bengals and Vikings this year too.

Easy to see he does not like purdy; just looking for crap to stick to the wall
But the point about the NFC weakness at QB is VERY valid
I cannot remember the last time it was so lopsided in favor of the AFC

What criteria are you using to determine the "best" QB?

I think it's ridiculous to compare two QBs based on a team-to-team matchup. It's not like it's a UFC cage contest between two men. They're not even on the field at the same time, and the performance of every other player in the game is utterly disregarded.

Not to mention the fact all are asked to do different things in different schemes.

It's like downgrading Matthew Stafford for not being able to run like Lamar Jackson and suggesting Stafford is less effective because of it.

I dont know. I think in the NFC Stafford's varied arm angle and off platform throws have demonstrated that he can spin it in a bunch of different ways just like Mahomes in the AFC. So he is prolly a step ahead of Dak in just the ability to throw accurately from a variety of ways.

But Dak's 2023 fundamental footwork improvement and mechanics have led to
Dak's 2023 accuracy as being head and shoulders above his previous 7 year body of work.
Yeah, and don't give me all the previous completion percentage crap stats from previous years. Anyone who has watched him this year can tell hes making tight window throws more regularly and those behind, high and in the dirt crap that showed their head quite often in the past, happens not so much this year.
My biggest complaint on him was/is consistent accuracy and decision making.

The consistency in his accuracy is extremely improved this year.
I'll hafta get back with ya on the decision making cuz I think that is a topic of its own.
