I'm not a let's trade Dak guy. In fact, he's been very good. But is it time to think about putting feelers out to see if we have any takers? To gage his value? I mean, we are sitting there already with premium picks, why not stockpile more? I think he has 2 years left on his deal. Is that contract something a team is willing to take on? I'm thinking maybe we should start over at QB now, since we are in transition mode. Give me your thoughts.

No one, and I mean no one is going to trade for Dak without Dallas eating the majority, probably all, of Dak’s contract, similar to when Russ was traded to Pittsburgh from Denver.

Outside of that, no one will want him and we wouldn't get a lot of picks for him, either. I don't think other FOs value Prescott nearly to the level Jerry does.

We are sink or swim with Dak when it comes to being on the field and managing the cap. I honestly think his contract is in the argument for worst NFL contract ever. The FO did literally nothing to offset his cap hits to maximize windows of opportunity to win a SB. Nothing, while also overpaying for him relative to his impact on a football game.

No one is touching Dak, or that contract, without a level 1 hazmat suit. It's radioactive as hell.

Dak Prescott's current contract with the Cowboys, signed in September 2024, is a
4-year extension worth $240 million, averaging $60 million per year, making him the highest-paid QB in the NFL at the time, with $231 million guaranteed. This deal ties him to Dallas through the 2028 season, following his previous $160 million contract from 2021.

Key Details of the 2024 Extension:

  • Total Value: $240 Million over 4 years (2025-2028).
  • Average Annual Value (AAV): $60 Million.
  • Guaranteed Money: $231 Million.
  • Signing Bonus: $80 Million.

Context:

  • Prescott signed this extension just before the 2024 season, adding to his previous deal.
  • The $60 million AAV surpassed deals from other top QBs like Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence at that time.

so no he isnt tradeable

Ok ty for that.

That's the thread today???......are people actually watching games? Was there ever a pass defended last night? If this game were played in mud.....McCarthy's uniform only gets dirty because he ran for positive yards.....nothing else.

The chances of Jerry accepting the cap hit that would come with such a trade are zero and less than zero, if that's possible. Plus, Jerry needs to sell more jerseys and such to keep piling up his money, and he needs at least one or two marquee names on the squad to help with that. That truly is Jerry's thinking, I believe.

The hardest thing to get is a good quarterback. show you want two quarterbacks in the bush

Can’t.. no trade clause unless Dak wants out..

But Dallas is a QB dreams, particularly with endorsements and as long as the team is relevant.
