Played 2015 without Dak and sucked as well.....whereas the the D Hops of the world succeed REGARDLESS of the QB
He was hurt most of the 2015 season and of course without Romo.

No doubt Dez was dependent on Romo. But the fact is was a top 5 WR with him.

Now he’s worthless on one leg.

I always liked, probably even loved, Dez, from the minute he was drafted. And went back to watch that moment where he was selected in the draft from time to time on YouTube. He was (is) special and I'd love to see him back with Dallas. He's a genuine and good person.

I hate how we have this culture of hating our stars past their prime or current stars that have been paid. Dez is arguably the best Cowboys WR of all time, I’ll always have love for him
You're drinking heavily these days, am I right?

Just curious but once teams start losing players for 2-3 games, he could finally get a shot. Not to mention, having worked out with a couple of well-established QBs can't hurt. One thing I think we all can agree....there's no chance of a Cowboy reunion.

I have wanted to see Dez return since he was released.

But it's just not to be.

When Cobb left I thought there was a chance but Lamb fell to us and that slammed the door on a return.

I do wish he might get a shot with another team.

But it's getting late for that.

I wish him good luck in his new life.

For sure.

I'd take him as this team's #4 receiver.

I like Smith and think he was wasted last year.

But If I'm a team looking for a veteran possession guy, I'd be happy with Dez. I think he gives you a lot of upside for the likely cost.

He's the kind of free agent we'd normally be looking at. Cheap with upside, who has been out of the league a year so he doesn't count against comp picks.

But I don't see the fit or the need this year.

Dez been grinding. I've been seeing his workout videos. Problem with Dez is he definitely doesn't have the athleticism now and I don't know if he's improved his technique and route running enough to compensate for the loss of speed and explosiveness.

Dez used to get by on his athleticism. "I'm just better than you." Having Tony throwing the ball helped. But Dez got older and more broken down, while players coming into the league stronger and faster every year. Eventually he lost that advantage, and the game changed to where route runners had less and less to fear from getting hit, and completion percentages climbed. The game moved away from what he did best.

I appreciated Dez during his days here. He was an excellent receiver, especially between 2011-2014. But brother, he’s not even top 3 all time Cowboys receiver IMO. Hall of Famers Michael Irvin and Bob Hayes, as well as ROH member (should be HOFer) Drew Pearson- who was arguably the most clutch receiver in Cowboys history are all well ahead of Dez. If you say he’s your favorite, I totally understand that.
I said arguably, I never said definitively he’s the best. But he’s certainly in the conversation however we go about it.

Nope not even close and when I say not even close I mean Irvin is a Hall of Famer and the second best receiver of all time who unfortunately has his career cut short by injury, Dez, on the other hand, was cut by the Cowboys then couldn't find work until someone was very desperate to sign him. On top of that Irvin could run any route, Bryant's route tree contains one branch!
Yes, Dez had 72 touchdowns, the Cowboys all time leader, running 1 route and yet somehow the league couldn’t stop it. Stunning!

Been saying this ALL offseason...he deserves to have a shot to win a SB with us. I disdain the hate that he has engendered from some "fans" on this board. All he ever did was the love the silver and blue! No one can convince me that he is NOT better than our 4th receiver at this point and that he will be a distraction on this team. Progress stopper? Maybe, but we can keep Devin Smith around after Dez exits next offseason..IF we have a season this year.

The statement was in direct reference to someone potentially claiming that they were sour grapes coming from Dez, I thought that was clear enough. If not, it is now.
Yes, it was clear. It just struck me as mildly ironic that Beasley was given as an example of non-bitter rational opinion. I loved Beas as a Cowboy and have always rated his ability but I can't not hate the way he has acted and things he has said publicly since leaving.

stephen called dez a distraction that had to be dealt with. doubt he wants dez around dak and zeke due to his explosive personality. call dez passionate all you want, but he sets a bad example for the younger, more impressionable guys. beasley and t.will followed dez around like he was a god. beaz left with a chip on his shoulder. t.will was just happy to be his gilligan (little buddy)

The Cowboys had Emmitt and a heavy run offense that's why Irvin isn't number one!
