Is Dwayne Harris playing his way out of Dallas?

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. He was a force to be reckoned with last year and if he can do it once, he can do it again. Also, who else do you want back there? He is as good or better than most #3 receivers and he is really playing behind Beasley. You don't fire Don Draper because he screws up one account.

i will take a look at it. do we have different players forming the wedge this year from last year?
I don't know but I'm confused why things are so different.

But if you do plan on going back to look at it - go to the first kickoff return after the Harris muffed punt.

I was paying extra attention because I was nervous. When I saw the wedge guys just stand there and do nothing I was thinking what ?????

And Harris was running full speed then just let up and ran into a wall of seAtle players. He never had a chance.

I would like to see the all 22 tape there.

Because I understand that players get blown up on special teams at times but something was so wrong here.

He's going through a bad stretch right now for sure. I could see the team moving on after this year, although I love the guy and hope he stays. He's got a good enough body of work on ST's that someone will pay him nicely this off-season.

With all the decisions the front office has on which players to resign/extend coming up, I could see them letting him walk. Hope they find a way to keep him.

yep. under normal circumstances i'd say he's a lock for a new contract. but this year we have about a dozen FAs to worry about. eventually the money is going to dry up. if he's not getting tds on special teams and making mental errors who in the front office is going to fight for him to get 3 mill a year contract when we have all these other pieces we have to take care of? this is why i said is he playing his way out of dallas. beginning of the year i would have said that the cowboys would choose harris over a guy like carter. now? i don't know...

i love harris most of the time..

but he's one of the players who makes up for mistakes by thrilling us with a exciting return like the houston game...

quit making mistakes and all is good bro...like fair catching at the 5

i actually like this dude...he plays hard..

:hammer:

Either that or his price to resign him is dropping. He's been doing some weird stuff the last few games.
It's the latter. There's no way you resign a guy like Harris unless he comes cheap. He's been a really valuable piece, but if his price goes way up, a lot of that value evaporates.

Have him out there blocking on special teams.

Watch how fast he wants to handle the ball like he used to again.

Ok, so it was 51, 97 and 25 too. They just stood still at 3:20 left in the 3rd quarter after pointing at some of them when SEA kicked off. They basically waited for them to come and there was nowhere for Harris to go. I saw it too during the game and found it odd. I also noticed that they have different guys setting the wedge? One time I saw 44 on a dif kickoff return. Not sure if this is the norm but you'd think you'd want the same guys doing it as long as they're doing a good job

His price tag is going down, no question about it. Two weeks in a row he fumbles a punt and he fair catches the ball at the freaking 5 yard line.

He really needs to get his head in the game before we lose a game because of this crap.

as Garrett said about this very same dude monday.

you look at the body of work. no question he has to protect the ball and he knows that. but hes done a lot of good things for this team.

not exact quote ok

I doubt that Harris has outworn his welcome in Dallas. He's had a couple of bad breaks in muffing and fumbling lately but that's been more of an exception to the rule than anything else. Hopefully, he'll put that stuff behind him and continue to live up to his past reputation going forward. He's been much more of a blessing than a curse.

after we win the Super Bowl this year, he will be one of those guys that gets overpaid by someone wanting the "experience" that he brings :D

I love the guys, the seattle game notwithstanding

I still hold my breath longer when Demarco has the ball in traffic than Harris. A bad game doesnt make a season, a punt return for a td to put a game away and all will be good again.heh

I don't remember. He's been solid all year I thought aside from last game. For me it seems like he's always making plays. The Seahawks game was the one game though.....the muffed punt.....very weird for him. Especially when you're trying fair catch.

The ball was greased!

Well, he fumbled and muffed a punt. Both are technique issues. Helluva blocker as a WR in the run game. I was thinking they could put him on Sherman and have Harris rough him up and then move Dez on Sherman and see how Sherman responds.

I don't think he's playing his way out of here but more or less dropping his price tag when his contract is up. But, it's a fairly simple fix for him.

I dont think he is going anywhere. He has had a couple recent issues, but I really believe he will get passed it.

I don't care either way, we need someone more stable back there returning kicks and punts.

thats just silly. he is still 7th in kick retuns in the entire league and would be in the top 10 in punt returns if not for all the penalties. he has two turnovers. he has to clean that up but he is playing no different than last year. we are getting more penalties on returns this year though.
i think he will be gone after the season and when he is gone he is going to be seriously missed. he is a force on coverage, a great blocker and one of the top return guys in the nfl.
but he wont be gone over his play, he will be gone becuae some team is goimg to give him starter type money because they see the playmaking ability, tough hardnosed approach he as and they will want that on their team
