Is firing a head coach midseason a good idea?

J Jones an idiot? He has 3 super rings how many GM's can boast and say the same thing ?

He hasn't won a playoff game in 12 years. How many GMs can say the same thing considering absolutely none of them would keep their job that long?

Unlike baseball, I don't think a change at the top has ever produced a championship in the NFL.

But right now Wade is doing a terrible job as DC, and IMO brings basically nothing to the table as a HC. Now the defense might come around and if so, he shouldnt be fired during the season. However if they look hopeless on defense and we lose again tonight, getting rid of him would be the right thing to do IMO. Somebody on the current staff (Grantham, Herring or even Campo) could serve as DC for the remainder of the year.

yeah, of course there is a limit, but I am not sure we are there yet. If we lose tonight, I may have a different story. Actually, if we lose tonight, I may ask for the whole team gone, but that would be running on emotions.

That being said, do not confuse any of this with what I feel about firing Wade after the season.

The Cowboys have never fired a head coach in mid-season, but that does not mean it should "never" happen. Our defense is ranked #32 in the league...not a typo...#32 in the league -- dead last. Not acceptable.

If not fixed immediately, then Wade needs to be fired as soon as possible - no need to wait. And a few players should be put on notice as well...

At the very least, Jerry should bring in another defensive coach to learn the players and system to help and/or take over if required.

no doubt about it.

what is laughable is ANY COWBOY FAN who really believes wade is getting the most from this bunch of players AND ALSO that he'll magically turn things around.

WE HAVE REGRESSED WEEKLY UNDER GM JERRY'S COACHES CUPCAKE/TECHMO.

Sad commentary indeed. I hope Jerry has started interviewing defensive coaches already...we can't afford a wait and see approach.

We only regressed because of injuries the last year before that we were 13-3 with 13 pro bowlers. I mean c'mon what more do you want. Let's not forget we are 1-1 this year you guys are just over reacting. The season isn't won or lost in september remeber that.

You guys want to take the best pass rusher in the NFL and make him a 4-3 DE??? He's not big enough to take on LTs consistently. It's a mismatch. He has a DE covering for him now. Take that away and he's not going to do well an entire game.

Ratliff has been tried at the 3-4 DE. That's heads up with the tackle. They moved him back inside for a reason. I think you'd negate some of his quickness and penetration. People still need to stay in their lanes for the most part unless there's a designed stunt. We played that way last year and the run game suffered against running teams.

Peppers can play the 4-3 DE or the 3-4 OLB. He's bigger than Ware though. I'd love to have two of him here.

No argument. Thats why Ware rarely plays w/ his hand in the rubber pellets.

I said before only Ware and Spears/Igor are perfect for the 3-4. But theyd still be on the field in all different packages. The others are also versatile.

My original point was having a 4-3 coach and 3-4 coach. So they can mix and match and come up w/ any look for an offense. Mostly 3-4 b/c Wares perfect for it, and a little 4-3 w/ a line of Ware-Rat-Spears-Butler!!

Something like Greg Schiano as HC and a Bal assistant as DC?
