BUT. Our almost losing to the Deadskins last week WAS my fault. Allow me to explain.
I'm in Atlanta. I slept late that day....REALLY late...woke up like 1:30 PM well after the game started. Of course, it wasn't on local TV (damn the Falcons all to hell), so I immediately and grogily took a quick shower, got dressed, and sped over to my local watering hole. It was kind of cold here, so I put on the first long sleeved shirt I saw in my closet, not thinking anything of it.
Got over to my watering hole, and after watching almost to the end of the game, before the TD drive, it dawned on me.
There I was, cheering on the Cowboys, in a bar, wearing a long sleeved Commanders-red shirt!
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I immediately got on my knees and prayed to Tom Landry to forgive me, and voila, the game winning drive

This isnt nam man, this is Dallas Cowboys Football, and there are rules!
And rule #1 is absolutely, positively no Commander paraphernalia. Im on the verge of blaming every single loss in the past decade on this shirt. You need to burn that thing and post pics.

My sincere apologies Phoenix.
You are off the hook Phoenix, at least for all the losses this decade, had we lost the game last Sunday I would still blame you (and Jerry Jones but that belongs on another thread and I only say that to rile up the natives, but really) but know you would have been blamed by at least me. However, you did the right thing and quickly saved the day. Does that make you a hero? No way, but it does mean I will not blame you, for every loss this decade or for last Sunday's near loss. Congratulations, Jerry is now back to my one and only blame target, lucky guy. <Natives muttering restlessly>.

utrunner07;3101244 said:Lets not kid our selves here Teren, its been years since Lions fans could watch their team play football. I still have not quiet figured out what they do on Gamedays, from the looks of it, its some where between ballet, WWF, and cricket but it most certainly is not football.
I'm alone so normally it's not an issue, but w/ things like Thanksgiving..yeah it's a problem. Can't stand little cousins running around, family who are not into football telling me how crappy the Cowboys are doing, etc.Hostile;3101156 said:No, it is not your fault. The same thing happens to me, though I can eat. I will take my plate and eat while I watch. My wife's family are not into sports at all. They will ask if I want to join everybody and I tell them no every year. I'd rather be in a bedroom by myself with the game and my food than with a bunch of people.

I catch a lot of heck for it but IMO...it's worth it LOL The only time I feel comfortable w/ people around is at actual live games...wholly different atmosphere

I can't even begin to express how truly awesome that is...
As for myself, along with many other married-with-children shlubs around here, will be watching at the in-laws house, while fighting to get a seat in front of the big screen TV. The only adjustments I made with my wife is planning on leaving our house an hour early and arriving before the game starts, which is before most people will get there. My son is a HUGE Cowboys fan also, so he and I will team up together to drown out the idle banter from the rest of the crowd!

I'm lucky to have a wife who is a huge football fan, and her family respects the importance of football as well, so I got very little resistance to my scheme.
Once I got season tickets for the new stadium, I told them that I could guarantee them that we would bring the grandkids and fly out and visit them every year for Thanksgiving for the next 30 years, as long as they would agree to have Thanksgiving meal on Friday so we could go to the game on Thursday.

By the looks of the pic, it seems you have some pretty nice seats to boot! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, and have a great time at the game!
