Is it possible that Dallas was the second worst team in the playoff field?

it’s a fundamental mistake to chalk our loss up to just not being good enough. Theres no way around it, Dallas choked against Green Bay. If they played the Packers at home during the regular season they win 7-8 times out of 10, with a decent chance it’s a blowout. They were also a better team by most metrics than Tampa Bay, Philly, Detroit, St. Louis, Miami, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Houston. The only teams clearly superior throughout the regular season were SF, Baltimore and Kansas City on the weeks when their offense showed up.

The Cowboys just didn’t show up to play GB last week, and that’s a real problem. But you can’t have it both ways, Dallas can’t be inferior to the rest of the playoff field and ALSO be chokers. If GB and the rest of the playoff field was better, then we were supposed to lose. The fact that we WERE better and lost is the issue at hand.

Philly played the same they had for 6 weeks. No surprise in their performance.
Dallas was playing well and got their ***** handed to them at home.

You are what your record says you are. We made the playoffs but lost to a seventh seed. Not only did we lose, but we got owned. So either the worst or second worst is a valid estimation until they get some fire and stop choking in the playoff and start playing like they want to actually be there.

Problem with these threads is....

No one forced to put their wealth or life on the line is betting against Dallas in that game.

No one. Only liars will claim otherwise.

The run defense got exposed like 4 or 5 weeks before playoffs. Offense lays an untimely egg. Sucks. Thats sports.

But to be unreasonable about Dallas is reaching to hate.
Uh-Oh!
You said,"Hate".
You win the thread.

Definitely tied with the Eagles for the 2 worst NFC playoff teams.

Games Lost By 10+ Points This Season (including playoffs):
Cowboys - 4
Eagles - 4
Bucs - 4
Packers - 3
Rams - 2
Lions - 2
49ers - 2

You're not a contender if you're getting blown out in so many games. The Cowboys and Eagles were the definition of frauds this season

And neither team seems inclined to changes much of anything. Peculiar.

The Cowboys have been a good regular season team for some time. If you're happy with that, I guess that's okay. Come playoff time they're perennial chokers. I'm not happy with that.
Good regular season teams are generally good postseason teams. The nature of football doesn’t change in January. The fact that Dallas is in that minority of consistently good teams that almost always underperforms in the playoffs is the issue here.

Dallas is the first teams to win 36 or more games across three consecutive years and not make a single conference title game. That stat itself is a clear reflection that being good in the regular season generally means you will have some playoff success. So again, it’s just incorrect to say Dallas isn’t better than a lot of these playoff teams. It’s true that they underperform when they get there.

Now that being said they don’t always. Last year they blew out a team they were better than, then last a one possession road game to a team most people regarded as being much better. The 2022 postseason just went as it was supposed to. Same with 2018. 2016, 2021 and 2023 are the years in which they lost to teams that can be objectively considered inferior.

If you look at Strength of Victory which measures how all the teams you beat did against other teams, Cowboys had the 2nd worse percentage (.392) to Miami, who beat us in the regular season. So you could maybe argue we were the worst team in the playoffs.

We played the worst in the playoffs. Not even Cleveland got their butts handed to them like we did against the Packers. At least they had the excuse of playing on the road with a backup QB.

After witnessing the playoffs, were the NFC east teams the worst in the entire field?
When you get blown out by the 7th seed do you need to ask?
Common man, we've been overrating this team to the MOON.
We are a balloon with a lot of HOT air!
