Is it possible that Dallas was the second worst team in the playoff field?

We don’t have as much talent as people think. Not good enough talent for sure.
9 first or second team allpros……that loss was about being unprepared, undisciplined, unmotivated, and soft…..quitting. Coaching a big reason for that loss, horrible (borderline retar**d) game plan by Dan Quinn, no adjustments…just bad all around.

2nd? Who was worse?
Philly. The problem is they were falling all during December and people expected what happened. We wouldn't even had won the east if it wasn't for their collapse. But we have to be the biggest disappointment in these playoffs and it's not even close.

Good regular season teams are generally good postseason teams. The nature of football doesn’t change in January. The fact that Dallas is in that minority of consistently good teams that almost always underperforms in the playoffs is the issue here.

Dallas is the first teams to win 36 or more games across three consecutive years and not make a single conference title game. That stat itself is a clear reflection that being good in the regular season generally means you will have some playoff success. So again, it’s just incorrect to say Dallas isn’t better than a lot of these playoff teams. It’s true that they underperform when they get there.

Now that being said they don’t always. Last year they blew out a team they were better than, then last a one possession road game to a team most people regarded as being much better. The 2022 postseason just went as it was supposed to. Same with 2018. 2016, 2021 and 2023 are the years in which they lost to teams that can be objectively considered inferior.
The results of the Cowboys post-season speak for themselves. Defend them all you want, but they're perennial chokers. It's the culture. They're bad until they prove otherwise in post-season. I'll stick with what history has shown time and again since their last SB appearance. Jerry has ruined the culture.

After witnessing the playoffs, were the NFC east teams the worst in the entire field?
Dallas was competitive in some areas of the game. As a complimentary football team, most likely one of the worst.

The Cowboys have been a good regular season team for some time. If you're happy with that, I guess that's okay. Come playoff time they're perennial chokers. I'm not happy with that.
a different point from the you are what record says you are which only ever applies when we are bad

When I said "You are what your record says you are" I was referring to their post-season record for the past 29 years. I don't ascribe to the notion that it's okay to be satisfied with regular season success. I have higher standards than choking in the playoffs. I fully realize it likely won't get better as long as Jerry is around, but still cling to a little hope.

We were the worst run stopping team in the playoffs and probably tied with TB as the worst running team. We had the absolute worst interior defense. Other parts of our team may lift us slightly, but I’m not sure who we are better than.

Not sure if there is a single aspect about this team that I would consider playoff caliber. Run defense is laughable. Pass defense definitely not. Run offense is sub par. Pass offense is a ticking time bomb. Special teams are average. The punter has been the most consistent thing that we do. We are built to compile regular season stats. We are not built for the real thing. This has been obvious for many many years now. It is apparent in so many of the decisions that are made. It is not a surprise at all. Acting like it is a surprise is beyond pathetic.

Bingo. You have to be able to control the line of scrimmage in the playoffs. To me, the Buffalo game last month should have sounded the alarms all over The Star in Frisco, TX. Everything that happened in that game should be what the organization uses as a baseline to improve.

does it matter? what difference does it make?
just a gauge of where we really stand in the pecking order. I would not have said that going in .... so when the thought occurred to me, it caused me to have a bit of an "Awww hmmmm" moment.

When you get blown out by the 7th seed do you need to ask?
Common man, we've been overrating this team to the MOON.
We are a balloon with a lot of HOT air!
No disagreement. I was never on board that we were a true contender ..... but being arguably one of the two worst teams from the field was a little bit .... sobering.?

We were the bigger letdown than even Philly.
Who? You mean the ones who were odds on favorite to win the East and go to the Superbowl. Started 10-1, lost 6 straight games, and got blown out by a weak Tampa Bay team??? We were not the biggest let down.
