Is it really time to panic?

Actually they kind of were when you look at timing. Free agency officially started on March 18th last year. Poe was signed on the 9th of April. McCoy was signed on the 31st of March. Griffen was signed on Aug 6th.

None of those three were considered big time signings. They were typical Cowboys signings........... wait a week or two in FA, sign whatever is left over and hope it works out. It did not, again, for a variety of reasons (FWIW, I think Griffen's issue was more related to Nolan's usage than him being just a bad signing).
We need to see what takes place before we rush to judgement.

Why is everyone upset???????? We got our man, Dak Prescott he's going to lead us to the promise land! Hells Bells......all Dak has to do is throw his helmet onto the field and BINGO that should be enough for a win........ha-haaaa! This team was doomed the minute the ink dried! Dak has been here since 2016, had one GREAT year because of the O-Line and since the O-Line has been on the down side so has Dak Prescott's abilities to lead this team to victories against solid teams in the NFL. JJ should of tagged, bagged and traded Dak for a couple of high draft picks, used available funds on the O-Line, used the highest draft pick on a QB and the reminder of their picks on the defense. These moves would of payed off faster than having Dak around for 3 - 4 yrs struggling against average teams and racking up yards against bottom feeders! Go Cowboys...................

Did anyone here expect the Cowboys to go hog wild with FAs? If you did you have not paid attention for the last few years. They just don’t do it.

They did give a little hope by clearing out some cap space with restructuring the entire OL. But my point is we have people screaming that we have missed out on free agency. There are lots of players that can still help this team.

I mean if you want to, that's fine.

But history is a pretty strong indicator here and Stephen has basically come out and already defended what they were going to do - the same stuff. The strategy has not worked once. Not sure why we should be hopeful it will work this time.

True, but is it THAT much to ask for ONE premium free agent per decade??

Very true.

On the other hand, there is absolutely no reason to believe they will get those players either.

Its simple....they think they are better than they are and the whole reason for last years debacle was Nolan.

I quit panicking over this team long ago. Keep your expectations at a minimum and then on the occasions they exceed 8-8 it's a pleasant surprise. If they someday actually win a divisional playoff game you can be happy.

I don't care for the strategy either, but they are going to plug a few holes. They have a boatload of draft picks this year and should be able to address several needs.

"boatload" of picks. The majority of those picks are in the 4th round and later. Those aren't the rounds you typically find players that can start or make an impact immediately. Those are guys that you look for to fill out depth, etc.

If the logic is they can fix their DT, S, CB and other problems through slop bin signings and the draft, they likely will find themselves with some of the same holes as the season progresses. History has shown us this is how it almost always goes.

No need to panic. Dallas isn't going to be contenders this year. Expectations haven't been High for this team for a while now. Just hoping with this easy schedule they can at least have their 6th good season in the last 25 years.

Dallas always sits on their hands in FA.

We are picking in the top 10 in every rd. We currently have 4 picks within the top 100. I am expecting 3 impact starters and a few quality veterans added via fa.

stopped panic about this team a long time ago just look at the two loser who run the team u just know that they have no idea what that heck they are doing

That seems like quite an expectation, especially the quality veterans part in FA considering they rarely actually find those types if you look at the last 5-7 years.

And implied in this assumption is that the Cowboys use their best picks on defense as that's where their holes are. But it very well could be the case they take an OL at 10 or Pitts, the TE, for example.
