Witten has had a very poor season by his standards. He's on pace to have by far the worst yards per catch of any full season in his career. He has one touchdown. He isn't making any big plays down the seam like he has throughout his career. In fact, he's making about as many negative plays for us as good ones these days. It could be a blip, but something is definitely wrong with him this year. He's young chronologically, but this is his seventh NFL season, and the hits are adding up. I wonder if he's already on the down side of his career.

I don't think so.

You can't be serious?

no, he is not in decline and asking such a question is idiotic, how can someone be in decline when they had decent stats being 5 catches for 47 yards, thats more than enough from an elite TE, who blocks fantastically.

So when Dallas loses, all the doubters come out and play.:banghead:

No. Try and take notice of where we keep our all-pro TE on alot of passing downs.

Next question.

wow dude....way off base. you think because hes not cathcing balls downfield he's not stepping up? he's a great blocker and he our number one 3rd down guy...he's doing what he needs to do

I wouldn't say "very poor", but he is definetely not as dominant as he was. Of course teams are keying on him more since TO left, but I agree.....He is not quite himself.

Yup, ship him out. Maybe to one of our divisional teams. If he plays for them he will actually be our secret weapon because he's in decline.

I just hate how he's being used in space. He's not Reggie Bush.

He does n't appear to have lost a step. While great at getting open, there are no yards after catch. He is basically a "station to station receiver".

No... I can't really believe that question was asked. That's a single digit wonderlic scoring question.

it's weird how Ds can take both Witten AND Austin out of a game

I can see Roy WIlliams taking himself out of a game

but damn

He's not having the stellar seasons he had before. So, in that sense, he has declined a little. Although, it would be unrealistic to think he could keep going forever at an All-pro pace.

He's still good, just not at the top of his game like before. Could just be a temporary phase, too.
