Is Jerry Coming Around to the Idea of Zeke Spelling Pollard?

Is that what happened against the Bears?
Oh...the mighty bears....the one Tony gassed out?

Look I have no ill will against Tony. I think we need both. But if you feel the need to fight about it...I'll keep it real.

We'll face tougher teams than the bears and we'll need both Zeke and Tony.

I don't trust Pollard in keeping our QB healthy the rest of the year....everyone keeps forgetting about the importance of the running back in picking up rushers that have broken through.

Not fighting about anything. The Bears running attack almost took out the Dolphins. I'm not suggesting we give Greenbay an overdose of Tony. But you got to admit our offense was more fluid with Zeke in street clothes. Tony needs to continue to start with Zeke as the change of pace. Trust me. I'm a huge Zeke fan, but I was also a Emmit Smith fan, Demarco Murray fan, Tony Dorsett fan. (Never liked ROBOT Hershel)

I keep reading articles like this about Jerry talking about the fortunate situation we have with Zeke and Pollard. No, I'm not calling this a debate. Anyone in the know actually knows these are both very good backs for different reasons, and different situations.

The way I see it, Zeke would be in on passing downs more when blocking is important and we can still find situations for him to help us with, but Pollard should start the game and be the center of attention when we start the game. I think Pollard helps you wear the defense down earlier on more than Zeke. While I think Zeke's numbers would actually increase if he let Pollard open things up for him a little bit.

Just my two cents. I know Zeke will play. That's a given. I just think Zeke will be more effective playing after Pollard as played some.

This is flawed flawed thinking. A slasher type back who slithers free from tackles does not wear on defenses nearly as much as a pounder like Zeke. Ask any defensive player which type of back he'd rather have to tackle 20 times. Yes Pollard is harder to get ahold of.. but whiffing doesn't burn near as much energy as trying to drag down a 225 pound freight train. In the last game what we saw was Pollard tiring out after 30 snaps.. In a tight game we might need more than that.

He played the whole game. It only makes sense for him to have been winded. Happens to all backs. Happened to Emmitt. He was winded and still scored. I think that's what he was saying, but I guess it boils down to what you glean from his comments.

No he didn't.. He played 30 snaps.. His last snap came with like 8 minutes left and that was because the game was a blowout.. Had it been a one score game he would have to go back in.. and if it's true he was spent he likely would have pulled something and been out several weeks.

How do you not get how moronic this statement is?

If anything Zeke is Hambrick. Watch the games please. Pollard is electric.

Hambrick was electric too when he was coming off the bench.. Just as Marion Barber was electric when HE was coming off the bench.. and Felix Jones was electric when HE was coming off the bench.. I'm sensing a pattern here..

Yeah I forgot about Randle.. This fan base's fascination with the 2nd RB rivals other fan bases fascination with the backup QB. It's incredible that it just keeps happening and we apparently keep not learning. The good news is that McCarthy aint lettin the fans nor the media set his starting lineup.

Oh and didn't Randle steal some cologne too? LOL!

Gee zus what an idiot.

I think on some downs we need both of them . Zeke FB Pollard as a wing. It's like short yardage, if they stack the middle you toss it to Pollard if they're spread out it hand it to Zeke .
Same set up for passing downs if they show blitz motion Pollard to the slot.
, Watch the DC have a mess in his pants

I’ve seen Pollard start. Still electric.

Pollard is more likely to put points on the board. Simple as that. Zeke is great guy, good blocker but his days of being the #1 RB are long gone even if he is still called the #1 RB.
That all ended when he went to Cabo, and hasn't been the same since.

Coach Jerry has been studying film carefully over the bye week. Coach Jerry first must consult Dr. Jerry to see how Zekes knee is doing…then he’ll let assistant coach Mike McCarthy know who should play the most snaps…

In Jerry’s last radio interview he said nothing would change between Pollard and Zeke. I think it’s better to have Zeke soften up the defense for Pollard.
Nope. Pollard can whip every defense just like he's always done his whole starting career. Let Pollard beat up the defense.....proven fact he can do that game after game

Proven fact? He’s never done it game after game.
