Is Marinelli Feeling Okay?

A lot of the blitzing came in the 2nd half/garbage time, if I recall correctly. Romo mentioned during his broadcast earlier this season that Belichick runs "throwaway plays" and formations in garbage time to skew future opponents' analytics. I bet a lot of teams do this and that may explain why Marinelli was blitzing more, which is not his norm. Now future teams will run their reports and see that the Cowboys had a higher blitz percentage, which may trick them into preparing for them to blitz when they play them.

You can attack against a green rookie when you've got a lead.

Attack a guy like Rodgers and he'll burn you. All about context
I seem to recall us getting the best of Rodgers in last year’s playoff game when we were aggressive and us getting burned when we played conservative and “fell back” into coverage. Rod needs to be more aggressive. That is all. ;)

True, but I also remember winning in Lambeau with a defense that consistently rushed 3 and dropped 8.

I think the opposing team and qb will alter what they will do. I don't think Rod respected 49ers Qb.

Aaron Rodgers wasn’t Aaron Rodgers that game. You can’t count that one my man.
If you say so. The NFL counted it as one of 13 wins last season. He adjusted and took us apart in the playoff game so you have to give him credit, but let's not pretend Marinelli had nothing to do with that win in Green Bay.

I wouldn't count on seeing that often. Marinelli did what you are supposed to do against rookie QB's and it was successful. But you can't do that against the likes of Aaron Rodgers...he will make you pay for it.

Except Rodgers makes us pay for it either way. Rather hit him hard and a chance to break him then play passive and let him win with a clean uniform.

Right cause sitting back vs Rodgers has worked so well for them.

The playoff game last year they were forced to get more aggressive in the 2nd half and it allowed them to get back in the game.

Not sure why Rod is so unwilling to be more aggressive at times.

Yeah it's easy to be bold against C.J. Beathard. Who, incidentally, threw for one more yard than Rayne Prescott yesterday.

In a situation where he HAD to throw, being behind by more points than his age...and, the Wentz game starts soon. Not too early to get in your recliner with you bon bons and comfy slippers to get ready for that

Is Rod sick or concussed? That was something else with the play calling yesterday, and this is finally what I wanted to see from this defense. Rod went from Vanilla play calling to aggressive attack mode. He sent guys blitzing from all over the field. I hope they keep doing this and it wasn’t a one game occurance.
They just confirmed that he did indeed call in sick yesterday.
