Hardly.

But as part of the JJ-Barber tandem, one of the best in the NFL right now.

Talk about ball-control potential. If the O-line keeps improving, that tandem could bulldoze the opposition.

Worst threaad ever.

He's not even the best on his own team. Never mind:
Tomlinson
Alexander
Barber
LJ
Just to name a few.

I bet any one on this site if Marion Barber starts he's going to be above LT and TB on the rushing yard charts...im not talking about now im talking about full time starting and not spliting time. Marion Barber is a balanced back. He has the full package.

He runs, blocks, and catch. L.T. just run and catch. TB he runs and he's an inconsistent catcher.
You can't extrapolate stats for RB's. A premier back like LT gives you 25+ touches a game and he's only missed 1 game in his career thus far.

Cmon Cowboy fan, you think Emmitt Smith's only accomplishments are in the stat books?

Yes, but LT runs and catches much much better than MB3. There's no comparison. Do you really think we have a LT-type back just sitting the bench coming in on thrid downs and goalline? Much less one who's "better than LT..." or "more complete," or any other ridiculous statement you've made.

While he may be better at pass blocking, that's not enough of a consideration to take him over the top. He's not even in the same ballpark.

When he didn't start he got 95 rushing yards. That goes to show how good he is.

LT and LJ are better, but he is great and only getting better!

My only question is what will happen if he get majority of the carries and keep up that yards per carry.

Pigs would fly and there'd be snow here in Tucson.

Can you ever just deal with the reality of this team?

The reality is MB averages more than LJ, TB, and LT. Just imagine if he averaging them type of yards per carry in a starting full cary position, where do you think he would be at on the charts?

I just say I like the role that Barber plays in Dallas. I think he is a good hardnosed RB and would rather him play with us than against us.

worst post ever. Barber is a good back, but I would take LT, or LJ over him and Jones any day

I swear you can be as dense as a wall.

2002 look at Emmitt Smith ypc. 3.8 so you don't have to look it up.

Now look at Troy Hambrick's ypc for the same year. 4.0

Emmitt was the starter and Troy was the backup. By your logic Troy should be the starter.

In 2003 he got his chance and his ypc it dipped to 3.5 ypc.

Why?

Because ypc for a starter is NOT the same as ypc for a backup, and ypc for a backup is definitely not analogous to ypc for a true elite RB like Tomlinson.

It just doesn't equate and it never will. The sooner you learn this, the better.

So that's proof?? Wasn't that the game JJ got injured? It STILL took him 22 carries to get 95 yards. You wanna YPC that one? I'll save you the trouble... 4.3. His career YPC 4.2.

LT's career YPC... 4.3 And THAT'S AS A WORKHORSE!!!

But you don't want to talk about MB3's career YPC... you wanna take a small sample size and say his 5.1 over 50 carries this year is who he is. Not his 3.9 over 130 carries last year.

Anyone can be the best in the league on one play. Chester Taylor had a 98 yard carry last week... a 98 YPC on that one play. OMGZ!!11!! HE'S THE BEST RB EVA!!!!!!11!1111!!!

(I assume your little :D before every post indicates you're joking... whatever it is, you're wasting your time and mine. It's getting old.)

and Lamar whats his name had an amazing ypc behind Curtis Martin, but as a starter he is just ok. Remember one year Hambrick and Wiley (was that his name) had great ypc behind an aging Emmitt. You cant always assume youll have the same ypc with 25 touches a game as you do with 8.
