Uhhh, no. He's help build a better roster and they're winning more games. Simple.
And we're talking regular season, because that wouldn't help your case defending Garrett.
I agree he’s built a better roster which would support he’s ultimately doing less with more.

In the end it’s all about the success in the playoffs. Ultimately that’s what cost Garrett .

Lol, anything to prop up his hero Garrett.

Garrett had great talent over the years. That 2016 team had the best OL in the league with the all pros in their primes, Romo and Dak, Dez, Witten, and rookie Zeke.

Get out of here with this talk that poor Jason had to get by with less.

And Garrett had as much success in playoffs that McCarthy has.

It’s a valid argument. I’m not disputing who is the better coach or team they built.

But who’s doing more or less with the talent or team they have?

So then it doesn’t matter who’s our HC or how much talent we have ?

Bottomline persist. Who’s doing more with less or less with more?
Garrett took over a team that was top heavy offense and a bunch of JAGs on defense. Of course our division was actually tough during that time and not the relatively joke (outside eagles) it is now so getting to the playoffs was harder. I still honestly think Romo made our 4-12 teams 8-8 teams and the front office was absolutely terrible in getting a team together. I also feel like JG never adjusted or tried to do anything better, we became so predictable MULTIPLE teams would call us out on it. I never felt like we outcoached anyone, it was always talent driven. Big mac may not outcoach anyone, but at least it feels level.

I still however do think Mccarthey is a better coach, he at least recognizes issues and faults and tries to correct them, for better or worse, i.e Nolan hire. We generally are a better team even though our offense seems to be bipolar, but i think thats a different topic. Weve been somewhat managing injuries better, our oline has been full of back ups yet we havent had a Chaz Green game yet etc.

I’d agree. And well said.

But my question persist. Who is doing more with less or less with more?

What has the last 28 years taught you?
That coaching does matter.

We saw the better team Bill built. And similar with Mike.

But the results aren’t ultimately better assuming playoffs is the measuring stick.

At least Bill took a 5-11 team he inherited to the playoffs. That was doing more with less.

Looks like you figured it out on your own. Good coaches that want control can be successful, but Jerry won't give control anymore. His ego wants credit for the team success.

Better to answer this at the end of this season since we can see if Big Macs offensive play calling continues going down the toilet or not.
Overall id say JG did less with more on offense, defense sucked due to our coordinators doing less with less.

Big mac is tbd since i need to see how much KM was providing to the offense or not, DQ has been the defensive guy and hes been doing more with more. He has at least given us back to back 12 win seasons and into the playoffs, i honestly felt like weve been decently competitive in them, we havent gotten blown out in them or have a blowout on our side. Currently at this moment i think on offense were doing less with more. I do wonder how much of this is QB related however, but proper coaching should be getting that fixed as best they can and i feel like they arent.

I’m totally on board with issues surrounding Jethro.

But my argument persist . Who is doing more with less or less with more.

my packers buddies hated McCarthy and felt bad for us getting him. Him being oc shows he hasn’t changed with the times. I think it’s time to go young for a head coach as so many other teams have done and done well. Mike McDaniel, shanahan, Mcvay etc.
Isn't that what Jerry was doing with Garrett? I'm not disagreeing with you at all but Jerry tends to overcorrect one mistake with another at the opposite end of the spectrum.

Best answer I’ve had yet. And we will have to see the results this year.

But thus far I’d argue , if we consent we have more talent under MM, we aren’t having anymore success in playoffs. Which would be less with more.

We're not at the end. We're not even at the halfway regular season. Just like it's not even half as many years as Garrett tried.

I think, for the most part, McCarthy has had more talent than JG did. But JG had a couple of really good teams and came up with nothing.

The end game is playoff success, neither got it done in post season.

These last 3 years most would argue MM has built a more talented roster while revamping the offense and building a top notch defense .

And we have had most fans who believe this is a much more talented team under McCarthy.

The fact we had our first back to back 12 win and consecutive playoff seasons since the 90’s would support as such.

But we still have come up short in the playoffs and why we made the change to begin with.

This isn’t just about our QB and I warn you not to make it about it. There are ample threads for that discussion.

The Cowboys and McCarthy used Moore last year as a scapegoat after we had one of the top offenses not only in Redzone but overall . He totally revamped our offensive scheme which was already being called out while we were blowing out lesser opponents.

Now we apparently had built a defense which was hyped or sold as becoming one of the top in the league. Which had already fallen flat on its face in two of our 5 games.

At what point can we argue that McCarthy is doing less with more? Unless we are backing off this is a much more talented team than Garrett had ?

I was suspect of his playcalling and game day Mgmt before this game and season but the overall vibe was he is a difference maker and we’re in a much better place which there was some evidence to support .

I guess my overall question is this. Is McCarthy doing less with more than Garrett did?
Most teams come up short in the playoffs.

It's easier to see why we haven't won a SB when you consider the odds are 1 in 32, for every team, every year.

I agree. There are still more results to measure.

Results matter and why we made a change. I was thinking we were or are in a better place but it’s not looking as bright this week.

I’m not arguing we didn’t need to make a change. I get it. But at some point it’s going to be a fair argument. Who did more with less or less with more.

So , we are happier we have a better team and more talent even if he doesn’t equate into more success in the playoffs?

That’s fine and I get it but my argument persist. Who is doing more with less or less with more?

His play calling could be better. My question is is he calling these plays to protect dak Most plays are supposed to be quick throws.
