Is Merriman on way out in San Diego this year or next? Would Wade look at him?

Personally I dont think that the chargers will let merriman go, but just for sake of argument, say they do; should the cowboys look at him, just for this year to help our pass rush. That way merriman could spell time with spencer and give a big pass rush, your thoughts?

I know we need to sign ware this year too or next year for sure, before total uncapped year, but if merriman becomes available this year, just for this year in free agency, should the cowboys take a look? Yeah I know he is a knucklehead sometimes, but he could provide that extra rush with ware and ratliff because we really dont know if spencer can do that this year.

Shawne Merriman-LB- Chargers Sep. 7 - 11:56 am et

According to beat writer Kevin Acee, this will be Shawne Merriman's last season with the Chargers.

Acee said this week's issue with Tila Tequila has no bearing on his status with the team. Merriman's contract is up at the end of the season and the Chargers weren't going to bring him back anyway. But Acee then speculates that Merriman could end up parting ways with the Chargers before this season is over, in part because general manager A.J. Smith is sick of dealing with Merriman's off-field issues.Source: San Diego Union-Tribune

Didn't this team just try to get rid of the thugs and become free of distractions? I guess if things continue to go in the direction they are currently, that philosophy will chance quick. Also, Wade won't be here next year.

Even I'll admit the idea makes you perk up but then again I would almost rather have Peppers then Merriman if they are both going to be avaliable.

Just say no to players who choke 80lb women.

i agree, but at the same time, we really don't know what happened, so i reserve judgment for a clearer indication of what happened. as it stands, it's he-said-she-said. i'm interested in hearing what the other people who were present have to say about about what happened.

none-the-less, can you imagine him and d-ware together? it would be just sick!

I doubt Wade will be here so it's kind of a moot point.

Great.

Spencer being a 6'3", 260lb 3-4 end.

Yeah, that'd work.

So you believe one of the two...

A.) We're not going to make any kind of playoff run and Wade gets fired.

or...

B.) We make a playoff run, but Jerry fires Wade anyway and promotes Garrett???

I can't see either happening. I think Wade stays and Garrett goes, much to my disapproval.

Merriman is not a thugg...Why are so many people so sensitive. Feels like I'm in church sometimes and nobody has ever got out of line or done something bad. First of all Nobody knows what really happened with tila tequila. Rich little girls tend to lie and be drama queens.

Merriman is a man child roids or not and if the chance ever came to Bring him to dallas it would be stupid not to accept the idea and be happy about it.

I take it that you aren't familiar with the 3-4 defense, and the size of the lineman needed.

Let Google be your buddy. :p:

finally someone sees the truth. he brings intensity and would be the second best player on this D. this thug crap is getting crazy. if they can help win games i don't give a crap what they do. i would rather have them and win superbowls and games then have these nice fruity players and lose.;)

It is Wade's contract year and he is not being offered an extension.

Even if Jerry does not go with Jason Garrett (I think he will) I think he would go get Holmgren or Shanahan.

I honestly think the only reasons Wade is here has to do with the amount of money the stadium cost. No way Jerry wants to pay a man not working for him.

Speaking of money, get Ware's deal done.

IMO, Wade would have to win the Super Bowl to save his job. He has a 3% chance of that happening.
