First off, I have Verizon FIOS Ultimate HD package with all move channels open except the Porn stuff. HBO, Showtime, Starz, TMC, Epix , Cinemax all included.

I am lucky to still pay under $190 for 1 GB internet speed, and land line along with the TV channels.

We aren't extremely social family. We don't spend too much money on eating out or activities etc. TV is our only luxury so that's why I still justify paying around $185 for all these.

That said, lately we are running out of content and I am thinking about Netflix for some of their private shows etc.

How does Netflix subscribers like it? Do you think its an overkill on top of all movie channels I have?

$10/month....I think it's worth it. They have excellent original shows and movies.

All I can say is I was one that shunned Netflix for the longest time....And then the week between xmas and New Years I finally gave in, and I love it!....I also got the ESPN+/Disney+/Hulu package, I dont like it quite as much although Disney+ was great for The Mandalorian....Hulu sucks, it still has ads.....

Netflix is easily worth more that what you are paying for any of those premium channels except for HBO.

Netflix has only gotten better since new competition showed up with Apple TV+, Disney+, Hulu and Amazon was already pushing them pretty hard with original content. I tried Hulu, non ads, and couldn't find anything to watch.

I had all of those you have and dumped Cinemax, Showtime and Starz and I get HBO free with my ATT package on my phone.

Netflix is my go to for TV, I do not watch any network TV, followed by HBO and Amazon. Apple and Disney need to product up but they are cheap right now.

On top of that, they have most Star Trek and I love documentaries and they have boat loads of them!

Shunpike, just order it and give it a month and see what you think. I think you can find a free trial too, go look and see if they offer it. (Google around)

They've dumped a lot of the shows they used to have but it's still pretty good.

I like documentaries, and their content is lacking in quality and not much in terms of interesting stuff.

Definitely worth it. It pretty much rules the roost in my household with some other services following directly behind it (Disney+, Amazon, Hulu etc.).

I know SO many people who have "cut the cord" with their satellite services the last couple years. I'm guessing satellite TV is a dying product and I'm sure the companies are sweating it out these days. It's absurd. On average I bet the people I know were paying on average of $150/month for satellite. No thanks.

Correct and 100% agree, I cut the cord a few years ago and only pay for the high speed internet. I used to be with Direct TV for Sunday Ticket but found a loophole for that just watching those games online. Digital antenna ($10) is all you need to watch your local channels.

Cable companies heavily rely on old folks but will eventually have to remodel; assuming they have contracts with local cities to keep them afloat for awhile. I am half scared they will find a way to cap the internet speed on those services to try to force us back.

I pay for that too, everyone's hating on Hulu but that's my go-to app. Guess it's all relative; they have all my sitcoms I like that used to be on Netflix.

It's worth it if you end up watching it a lot and if you have the bandwidth to support it. It runs smoothly at my place, but my parents are in a rural area with not enough bandwidth and the thing always times out there, driving them nuts. They shut off their subscription and are better off just renting from Redbox. You still have to be choosey on the shows and movies, IMO. They've slipped a lot of blatantly feministloon-infected shows that can't stand of the type where a 120-pound woman can train for 6 weeks in fighting and then clobber a Mike-Tyson-type of fighter. I keep rolling my eyes so hard I'm afraid of going blind.

I have internet speed envy. On a really, really good day, we get about 10 mbps.

I used to be there with ya. We pay 120/mo. for 5G. Verizon fios. So with the apps probably $160/mo.

It's worth it to us. Don't really care for every company starting their own streaming service, but Netflix is producing some decent shows now(for a while).

Netflix still has its free trial, right? You could always do its free trial while also doing Hulu's free trial and then go with whichever one you like best.

Shunpike, it's easy to gauge the value to you and your family. Track the time spent on each channel. I got Disney+ for The Mandalorian and would have dropped 25 on the Blu Ray so at 6 a month, that was a bargain.

I prefer Netflix and Amazon because of their model of dropping entire seasons at once and saving me the time of recording all the episodes and waiting to watch them as I did with Watchmen, The Outsider and am doing with Better Call Saul.

The only complaint I have about Netflix and Amazon is the onus is on me to find stuff. They'll release new shows or seasons of shows I am following and I have to stay on top of that.

You don't have to record shows like Watchmen. Just wait until the season's over and binge watch.
