Is Parsons becoming a bad guy?

A leader is at OTA's with his teammates, and Parsons doesn't seem to be interested in being a leader. A good leader also stays away from calling people out in the media / social media. Maybe that's the issue people have with him.
correct he isn't a leader. I'd like him to be but he doesn't seem to be interested, maybe some day.

... Lawrence Taylor did drugs go on game day and they didn't care, did bill Parcells cut him hell no he didn't he didn't even care he let him do what he wanted long as he showed up it was a monster on the field.....
Well that’s it. That’s the problem. Micah is not a big money player so when he’s a distraction it brings all types of negativity his way. Micah is a monster on the field in September and October against weak teams. November, December and playoffs Micah is a no show. He disappears and gets on social media and complains of being held.

2 big problems I have with Micah right now. 1. He’s not with the team and there’s a new DC in town and I would hope he’d want to get learning the new system ASAP. 2. After we lost to the Packers Micah said they out schemed us and that’s why he wasn’t a factor. Please. You had 2 tackles all game. Reggie White, LT, Haley were never outschemed to the point of 2 tackles in a playoff game. An all time great generational player can’t be “outschemed”. He’s not as good as he thinks he is. Big money players show up in big money games. He’s not that guy.

Lot of anti Micah propaganda being pumped out the same year he is eligible for a contract extension.

So strange.
The Jones can’t unleash their media character assassins if Micah is at OTAs. I do believe the Jones is using the media to character assassinate him but Micah is not helping himself by skipping OTAs. In fact he’s playing into their hands.

Three questions;
  • Exactly what are you expecting or how are you wanna see him show his leadership?
  • The same question I asked another poster, are you willing to trade right now, today if possible due to a lack of leadership?
  • Does he make other players around him better?
Personally, I have no problem with this kid. I think some fans would like to see less off-field exposure and/or talking a little less but it's part of personality. He likes talking and meeting people, so what? Remember he was going to be part of Skip's weekly show? Again, he apparently, like to talk, I don't care. He is consistently working on his game, especially during the offseason. He is a hard-working player......maybe too hard-working. It could very well be why his body is losing steam late in the seasons. IMO.....many fans don't like him and believe it or not many have little or no respect for NFL player's ability to speak their mind or have a voice. It's the "shut up and dribble thing".

it never seems to amaze me....we have arguably one the best, if not the best defensive players in the league or since DWare/Deion Sanders, yet we are ready to run him out of town because ...........he talks too much or he is not doing enough in the playoffs. Never mind he's killing it 16/17 games a season.

My point is there are countless ways to show leadership.

Stop listening to Bart Scott and Jesses Holley.........hit me up when Darren Woodson, Michael Irvin, or DWare speak.

Meh turd boy runs his mouth and gets dog walked in the playoffs. You gotta do better than that if you want my love and affection.

I hope I'm wrong but he might be a version of a young Haley , with San Francisco. He became a problem with the whiners then Dallas reaped the benefits.

A leader is at OTA's with his teammates. Period.

  • The same question I asked another poster, are you willing to trade right now, today if possible due to a lack of leadership?
Dumb question. That's not the reason why you get rid of someone, unless you are in a position of leadership like a coach. Parsons isn't in that position, but if you or anyone else wants to consider him a leader, then his butt needs to be on the field with his teammates right now.

  • Does he make other players around him better?
Does he? Do you have any examples? I saw a team (defense) that quit against Green Bay, and an offense that didn't do squat until the 2nd and 3rd teamers came onto the field and made it easier for them.

...........he talks too much or he is not doing enough in the playoffs. Never mind he's killing it 16/17 games a season.
So he's only on the team for his regular season contributions for about 10-11 games before he disappears?

Your narrow-minded responses just proved my point.....focusing on single issues rather than viewing his career as a whole. The big picture, they call it. It's pretty easy to cherry-pick to fit an agenda.

Big picture opinion... Ever since Dan Quinn departed, Micah hasn't wanted to have anything to do with his teammates. He showed up for media day and skipped every practice. No doubt he is a great player but he's playing a team sport and until he understands that he will never be a leader.

C'mon Joe......Quinn just left a few months ago. What media day and practices are you referring to? OTAs are the first team practices since Quinn left. All I'm saying is some fans are reducing leadership to only 1 or 2 factors and that's not true. It can be shown in many ways tangible and intangible. We are NOT inside locker rooms and/or have access to the player's daily activities enough to say he's not a leader. That's all I'm saying......

I know some are well he is not there for OTAs so he not a leader........so does that mean all 55 players present are leaders? No, it doesn't, just like Parsons' mission g an OTA doesn't define his leadership.

Micah doesn't wanna be winner? Y'all funny. Use him correctly get him a real DT and lbs next to him and maybe he won't wear down by end of year. Having LVE as best lb next to him is literally saying a lot, and what dt have we had or do we have?? Then wonder why he gets mad n sais ish. He is on the defense he doesn't need to be a nice guy or shut his mouth.

When you watch a game and each starter is introduced, the networks like to have a quick snippet of each player. Those snippets were filmed during the media day I mentioned. There are a lot of rookies on this defense that Micah needs to get to know. When he's not showing up, those opportunities are missed.

Maybe. Haley was a lot wilder and more disruptive in the locker room in SF than MP has been. When you read of some of Haley’s locker room antics…other world stuff. But he could sure perform when it mattered most. S9me thing MP has struggled with at times.

Bad guy no, drafted into a bad culture..yes. What has this FO shown any young guys in 30 years about what it takes to win with team first building?

Here is how your average fan opinion was formed:

#1 - His own Youtube show. Rubbed anyone over 30 wrong.
#2 - Disappeared in playoff games, Cowboys choked, defense fell apart in DQ's last seasons. Fans started to get suspicious.
#3 - The leaked report from 105.3FM to hurt his contract negotiations. Confirmed what the fans suspected.
#4 - No OTA. Coach Mac's comment taken out of context. Fans ballistic.

I think it's all overblown. I don't think any of his opportunities are any different than the rest of the team. He's not a cancer, that's for sure. The whole team collapsed against Green Bay.
