Is Peanut Tillman Plan B?

He's 34 and missed the better part of the last 2 years with torn triceps. But before that he was one if the best Tampa 2 playmaking CBs. And he played for Marianelli. If we intend to draft a CB in round 1 or 2 and cut Carr, we might sign Tillman to a 1 year vet minimum contract to bridge the gap until the rook is ready to start. Would rather see him starting than Claiborne.

I was thinking that but I haven't heard much of anything about him since January. He previously stated his intention to continue playing but I haven't heard a thing about him. I would think that if he's the plan if they cut Carr, that they would be talking or signing him at this point.

I don't think we cut Carr and if we did, Tillman is not a replacement for Carr. Carr is not an elite CB but he is solid, does he get beat...sure he does but he also makes plays and is the 2nd best corner behind Scandrick. Also, I see the FO and Garrett looking at youth as opposed to bringing in older vets. Just my 2 cents though.

I doubt Claiborne will be ready game one anyways. Might as well bring him in. I wouldn't be surprised to see white take claibornes spot before this season is over.

Geez! Does he come with AARP and a bottle of Centrum Silver? No thanks. I could care less if he was some how linked to Marinelli.

I'd bring him in on a cheap veteran deal for 2 reasons:

1. We need quality depth

and

2. We need more playmakers in the secondary

Even if we draft some depth-- there's always room on my roster for a smart, savvy, hard-nosed vet that knows how to make plays in this system.

Tillman would be a depth guy who could maybe start a game or two.

I think he'd be a good addition, but not as a replacement for anybody.

No to Peanut Tillman. Good, solid player, whose trying to return to the Bears.

Having said that, the goal should be to get younger. Tillman was not born in the right decade. Wish him the best, though.

Hey now, be careful with that decade stuff, you might hurt my feelings.
