They can pursue 10/16ths of that signing bonus..
They will save the other money anyway whether they cut him or not.
They dont really "save" any money by cutting him, except what they would pay him for the last 6 games if he stays.

But if they cut him now, they save it now and can use it for replacements this season

The other thing is as fans we dont have all the info the FO has, so we really cant make a informed decision.,
Is Ro overweight, out of shape, what is his attitude?, why did he smoke again, etc.

As for sending a message, how can you send a message, if you cut ro but dont cut gregory ??
Ro has only failed one more test than gregory as far as I know.
Gregory promised to not smoke, but has now failed 4 tests, and is still on the team !

The way I see it , he should have been cut after failing his 2nd test, and so should Ro. That would have sent a message.
But the thing is most players on the team are not going to smoke weed no matter what happens with these 2 guys,
as they value their jobs. So I dont know who you want a message sent to, except other problem players who dont value their jobs.

All the ruckus about cut Ro now !! reminds me of the old western movies , where the mob comes to the jail wanting to hang
a guy right then, we cant wait till the next day or next week to hang him, we want him hung right now !
! :flagwave:

I really dont care, and whatever they decide is ok with me, I just dont want him signed again next year.
And I think gregory will fail another test before next sept.
How many of you would bet $1000 that he wont fail a test before next sept??

Well from what I read , it automatically is credited back to the cap, so they have that money now cap wise.
Like I said , only the FO has all the info needed to make the cut now later or at all.
If Ro would be in shape and ready to go, by game 11, it might be nice to have him at that point.
He already knows the defense, so just a question of shape, and attitude, and I dont know about either of those.

No matter what this is his last season with cowboys, so I just dont see how cutting him now helps the team.
I can see him helping later though.

To be honest, I don't know. We allowed Greg Hardy to pull all the stunts he did and still get more playing time than anyone else.

If McClain is allowed to stay on the team I'll be very disappointed. Enough is enough. This is happening too often on this team. There has to be accountability.

Doubt they cut him. The inmates run the asylum and pretty much have since Parcells left.

And before that after Jimmy left.

So let me ask you if Jimmy were running this team and had same control as back then, at what point would he have cut
Ro and Gregory ??
After failing 1 test ?? 2? 3? 4? after 1st suspension?, 2nd suspension?
I think Jimmy would cut them before the 1st suspension.

And I know JG doesnt have the control to cut players, so this isnt about him.

Neither would have been on the team. He doesn't like stupid players.

Rolando is a professional with many years more experience, the same speech Ro gave last year, Gregory gave when drafted. So if Ro got 3 years and they still haven't cut him, why does Gregory just get his rookie year ? You give Gregory another chance and you get the bad influences out of his circle (At least within the club). Ro's history with the Raiders, and his 3 years with us tells you he is not/will not change his behavior. Always over weight and out of shape to start the season. Does not like to train or practice. No different this year, and with at least 10 weeks away from the team, highly doubt he would be in shape and ready to play when his suspension is lifted. Making his 10 weeks really 12 or so.
The one area I agree with you is, if Ro is not cut. What incentive does that give Gregory to stay clean ? So, no, I would not bet $1000 he wont fail another drug test. But removing Ro is a damn good start.

Gregory stays because he still on his rookie deal, practices hard and hopefully can turn his career around

RoMcClain has been given a million chances and has shown no heart...he has quit 3 times and shows up out of shape when he does show.....he has peaked and his peak isn't worth the hassle or 3.3m cap charge

Jerry prides himself in finding bargains, especially former first rounders. He's done it throughout the time he's owned the team, with little success I might add. For every Marc Colombo or Rocket Ismail there's a bunch of Quintin Coriatts,Eddie Georges, Alonzo Spellmans, Dimitrius Underwoods and Brandon Weedens who absolutely flopped.

yeah your right, but it isnt just jerry everyone decided value, on what round your picked in.
Some player overcome that by playing great for a period of time, the rest are always judged by when they were drafted.

The main reason they wanted weedon, is his 1st round draft status, which really meant little.

why does Gregory just get his rookie year ?........ well because he didnt do what he said he would do.
Also cutting Ro wont help Gregory, and I dont know who the bad influences you mention are.
It was up to him to stop smoking the weed, he said he would, and then now has failed 4 tests! He should be cut to be a example for future
rookies or new players.
And I also said, Ro should have been cut last year, or at very least not resigned for this year.

But since things have gone this far, I think you wait till end of season to cut either one, as they may be needed later on.
Then at end cut both of them.
They already took a chance on gregory and he failed to keep his word, so they can keep him and then
hope he doesnt fail another test, but I think he already had his shot and blew it.]
I would cut him and find someone new with no weed issues, in the next draft.

And on Ro, this was to be his last season, no matter what, unless he played good and jaylons nerve doesnt heal.
He blew his chance too, and not just with dallas, but probably the NFL.

So bottom line is with both players it has gone too far to be sending messages, and I would still try and get some use out of them
this year, you have to think of this season and the team, not something emotional or individual.

He still did not like stupid players. Look it up on YouTube.

Michael Irvin, Erik Williams and Leon Lett weren't MENSA members...they all made more mental mistakes over and over again than any one else...
