All this cut Ro now stuff is all emotional and I don't want anyone in charge of anything that makes emotional decisions. These guys are professionals and if they have to be sent a "message" then they shouldn't be here to begin with. So I don't buy the "must send a message" nonsense. I don't care if they cut him or not personally, I see no benefit to cutting him today though. We have this guy under contract and if he can help the team late in the year, that makes more sense to me but if they cut him today, I won't shed a tear either.

And all this, Jimmy would have cut his butt,, is just nonsense too. Name one player that Jimmy cut for being a knuckle head that was actually talented and could help the team win? On the scale of knuckleheads, Ro isn't even close to Irvin, and how many times did Irvin get cut by Jimmy?? Exactly.

That is why these "send a message" cuts are over blown....Jimmy cut a guy on the asthma field thing, and he was never going to make it a week in TC anyway.
Roper was a has been player that never really was to begin with...he wasn't going to be on the team much longer either.

The only player that was cut that truly stood out was Richards..and it wasn't that he was a great player, he was decent. But it was when he cut him, right before the playoffs...his release didnt hurt the team. It was more the timing than the player.

So Jimmy's send a message cuts became legendary over the years....as his was also pre salary cap....

I don't care about a message to the team. Nor do I particularly care about what Jerry thinks, or even the coaches.

I mentioned when he was signed a comment by an acquaintance who is a Raider fan stating this guy doesn't have his heart in the game and is a wasted roster spot.

Of course the all knowing on this site made snarky comments. S then let me ask.

What does this guy bring to the table? Is he a pro bowl linebacker? At this juncture you have to get on the field to meet that criteria?

He is a malcontent with just enough talent you hope he turns the corner. But he won't.

My opinion is cut the guy and move on. No message. No appeasing the coaches. Just get rid of dead weight.
