Yes..I like phife more than tip. I like both. Have you seen the Tribe documentary?

I have not actually. they have it on youtube ???

I like both, but I think Tip was just a hair deeper with his content. Both were better than anyone I can think of out right now though. haha.

I am a hugeeeeeeee Outkast fan. I absolutely love Andre 3000 as an artist. And big Boi's smooth flow is a perfect match to Andre's crazy style.
In fact I was just listening to Jazzy Belle last night.

Lupe Fiasco Food and Liqour and The Cool were both great Cds, although I didnt really like Lasers.

Also Big L would have been one of the best rappers of all time if not for his death.

My "current" rapper of the moment is Kendrick Lamar, he is really talented.

Talib Kweli

He's good. I saw he and common circa 2004. Black eyed peas in 2002 (before fergie) was awkwardly one of the better shows I've seen. I don't blame them for going pop..because I want to be rich too...but it's a darn shame. They used to be legit hip hop.

The problem is many of you are saying this rapper is better than this rapper. But the base of the argument has to be are you talking material wise, or strictly on skills? Lyrically, Pac couldn't see Biggie in his dreams, but he had some hellified material which puts him squarely in the conversation. Quite honestly in Pacs heydey, I wouldn't even put him in MY top ten. While talented for sure, both he and Biggie get too much credit since they were tragically killed.

That documentary got my ex...who never listened to much hip-hop..totally into A Tribe Called Quest. They were my first exposure to hip-hop back as a kid going to Jeff Philips Skatepark (RIP) here in Dallas. That place was my first exposure to A LOT of things, actually. HAHA.

Tribe is probably the first group I would throw out as a group to turn someone on to hip-hop. In fact they're probably the group I think of when clueless folks say rap is garbage.

No, he’s not. Very underrated rapper though. I used to own a few of his albums, lots of lousy stuff on there, but a few gems that still hold up to this day. Minute to Pray, Second to Die is another great one. And the Geto Boys self titled album is in my top-5 albums ever. Amazing how great DJ Ready Red was in producing that album.

I think most rappers are straight chumps. But if you want to know who the best rapper of all time is, it's Yelawolf....

Tupac was way overated, just because he read some books and predicted a few things that anyone with a decent education could do does not make him great.

Also Tupac was basically an angel when he lived on the East coast he didnt do no dirt and was a very very good student ...He was on the east coast until he turned 17 then he moved to the WestCoast.....Tupac was "WEST COAST" from 17-25....smh how much "West Coast" could he really be if he was busy being a back up dancer and touring the world as rapper. The whole "I'M WEST COAST" persona was made up and forced on him by Suge Knight aka Bluto
