Is Schoonmaker playing better or just someone has to play?

Oh cmon. Name another TE who makes that TD catch and you can't use retired players.
No disrepect to Schoon or the post......kudos for the TD catch......but can we see more as the season completes......and not get ready to start a "New JWitt" campaign. Just sayin'. More to see.

Blocking isn't "suspect"...it's terrible. He wiffed for both Zeke and Cooper resulting in lost yards. Like he doesn't want to touch anyone let along mangle them.
The blocking is whats going to determine his snaps when Ferguson is healthy, so this is a concern. Whoever blocks the best between he and Spann Ford will determine that #2 TE spot next season.

He has played his best two games the last 2 weeks for sure. His confidence has to be growing and hopefully he can keep up the good work

His touchdown catch was why they drafted him. The LB didn't drop deep enough into his zone, and Schoon got two steps on him before he realized it. I'm not sure if Ferguson has that play in him.

Schoon's blocking is rough though, and it's keeping him on the bench behind a rookie UDFA.

Someone has to play. Before the injuries his snaps had been reduced.

Fergie doesn't seem to get much separation. The two other TEs have been the last couple of weeks.
Not sure if it's related to the player though - could be teams just watch Fergie more.

off base . Schoon routinely mangles with people on special teams . He’s not afraid of contact.

We don't know how to use two TE's in the passing game at the same time.
There have been some good points in this thread and terribly bad ones (Schoonmaker is afraid of contact …thats hilarious.) but yours is right on point.
Some teams work multiple tight end sets well but not Dallas

The classic ‘one mistake fuels the next.’

The DT selections left them awful at the position so they reached for Mazi at the same time they were determined to get a TE to replace Schultz.

Exactly the same as the Kelvin Fatman or whatever he called himself pick.

The kick in the rear is that they usually over estimate what they have in younger players, but didn’t with Ferguson.

This is what happens when you refuse to find the cap space to sign free agents. Again…one mistake fuels the next.

You mangled those multi quotes! :)

So explain the complete wiffing on the zeke and Coop plays for lost of yards. He just let them walzt on by..

So maybe we'll just have to disagree, I guess. Last I checked Schoon had a SUPERB o-line blocking reputation.

Your brain quit.
