Is Shemar James an option to start at MLBer?

He's been getting reps so he's an option but I think he's the 3rd option right now. I would give Overshown & Barham the nod over him currently. Barham might just be the early down Mike with Overshown the nickel guy.
My prediction is that Barham and Overshown will be in there on early downs as the ILBs and Winters will come in passing situations.

Most MLBs are between 229 and 245. Look it up. Fred Warner/230.

The day of the big LBs is over. They just can't get through to make plays. And MLBs need to be able to cover nowadays. Smaller guys.

Nick Bolton5-11 /237
Dre Greenlaw is 6/230. Exact same size.
Bobby Wagner: 6-0/241

Just go down the list of MLBs in the NFL and you'll quickly see you got this one wrong.
Fred Werner pre-draft
6'3-3/8"
236

The guy is too dammmm small to be at MLB… 6 ft nothing and 230 lbs just ain’t gonna cut it.

Might as well just put a speed bump with a sign that says. “ slow down, you might ruin your tires. “
This scheme is focused on keeping the LBs clean.

Nakobe Dean is 5-11, 230.
- They tried to sign him to play MLB.

Not much difference between MLB and the other off-ball LB in this scheme.

I have heard they were rotating the mike position, but not the will where Winters is locked in.

  1. Name a JAG Cowboy
  2. Inflate their ceiling with nothing but pure fantasy
  3. Post on social media during the off season
  4. Get reposted across fan sites desperate for “news”
  5. Profit off engagement

As an aside the Locked On Cowboys podcast is painful

I think Justin Barron stands an outside shot, too, at being one of the ILBs depthwise. He and Barham have the best length for the position at 6-3/6-4.
Based on his highlights (all I know about him), Barham looked very fast going side to side, so I thought I recall being surprised that someone with the team claimed he would be used inside. They know better than me, so…

Curtis Robinson, another ex-49ers player is pretty big as well. Overshown is getting bigger too.

I agree that there are smaller mikes these days but a lot of those roster numbers are not correct. Wagner was 236 at the combine, Greenlaw was 237 at the combine. Bolton is the same as his combine numbers. But guys put on muscle when they get in the league as well.
Sure, but we're talking about pure size, not muscle mass. Too big is mostly bad for a MLB.

Barham has extreme lateral agility and short area quickness, prototypical MLB traits.

Barham was a steal in the 3rd, and should be a stud football player.

He is one I’m looking very forward to seeing on the field, and we know Winters is going to play, Overshown isn’t hitting the bench until he gets hurt, so I see no need to deal a premium pick for Brooks. Not at this time anyway.

Might actually be worth watching some preseason this year. Depth should be better than usual.

Maybe, just maybe….the light has finally gone on.

These are not Jethro picks. These guys are football players, as opposed to pretty ballet dancers.

It's quite amusing to see the same ol' trash posts from the usual proclaiming that it won't be any different. This is different.

Well, they still have Jerry karma working against them so it’ll likely fail in the end somehow, but it might be nice to play a stout defense for a change and at least be competitive against good teams. My how the bar has been lowered. It’s disgusting, but I’m about sick of Jerry running football for me, and I do finally like the roster. So, let’s see what we’ve got…..

He needs a do over. Don't know about him being able to start right away, but he could definitely learn behind Winters for another year.

Don't see how this question can even be answered. He night not even be on the team let alone a starter option.

The league has changed due to the passing, there aren't many 2 down plus sized Mike Linebackers around anymore, it is kind of like the Strong Safety position.
