Is Terry Glenn a Cowboy now?

After playing for so many teams? I say yes. I will always consider him a Cowboy. He has been a great player for the team and never caused any trouble. Now all he needs is a ring.

I think so, too. He's been consistently good with four different quarterbacks. Can't ask for more than that.

When Terry signed his extention he was no longer just a hired gun.

I would say he is close simply because we don't really have a long history of great receivers and he is already high on the list.

The top of our list (Irvin, Pearson, Hayes and Hill) are very good, but there has always been a big dropoff after that. Glenn is among the next level of Cowboy receivers all time, and would probably be the next guy if he hadn't been injured so often.

Still, Glenn's best years and the bulk of his career stats were built in New England, so the Patriots have a big claim to Glenn. But of course, the present team gets some consideration over the past, and if Glenn stays here and is productive through the life of his contract he truly will be a Cowboy.

There's a droppoff, but I wouldn't say there's a "Big" dropoff.

I would say from Hayes and Hill to Harper, Butch Johnson and Golden Richards is a pretty fair dropoff, especially considering were all really only parttimers, either in terms of where they were on the depth chart or length of time im Dallas. There is an even further dropoff to whoever is next after those guys.

Maybe there's someone I'm not thinking of. I guess Rentzel would probably next in line after Hayes and Hill - I did overlook him initially.

No. Because I don't think he even considers himself a Cowboy. I see love and dedication to Bill, not the Cowboys or the Cowboy fans. He could care less where he played, imho.

I think he loves playing for Parcells. He played his best as a WR while Parcells was in NE and still was pretty good but very young after Parcells left. After unhappiness with Belicheck, he was suspended and then finally traded off to GB the year NE won their first SB. He didn't do much in GB & I think he contacted Parcells asking to come to Dallas and GB obliging traded him to us for a 6th rounder--it was a steal for us.

Anyway, I believe this is his 4th year with the Cowboys and he has already signed a 2-3yr extension. Believe he will finish out his career with the Cowboys and do believe while he dedicated to Parcells I also believe he genuinely sees himself as a Cowboy and plans end his career here--hopefully he maintains his speed and is here a long time. Don't be too anxious to get rid of him for a young unproven WR just because he's 32/33. Seems just as fast to me as he always has been. Must be something in the water in Ohio. Both he, Galloway & Santonio Holms are all Ohio grads. . us

How many more seasons do you think Glenn can go? Glenn is 32. McCardell retired at 36, Jimmy Smith at 37, Rod Smith is 36 and Isaac Bruce is 34 and both are still going. It'd be nice if Glenn could go as long as those guys, especially considering he was once viewed as a fragile WR.

Hard to tell Glenn is playing with an injury that is not going to get much better until the season is over and chances are will need surgery to repair it. My hope is he can play a while longer but I think a lot will depend on how things go this off-season for him.

I believe ur describing Keyshawn Johnson there...more than Terry.

I agree. I really, really like Terry... He might be my favorite player on offense. I love how he's the rare WR who doesn't have to have attention 24/7. But to me, he's still in the FOB group with Richie Anderson, Keyshawn, and Jason Ferguson.

Your kneejerking is even more predictable than mine.

But your 'humble opinion' on TG is as usual, wrong.

Of course Terry LOVES Bill, but he has also made numerous statements since he came to Dallas saying how happy he is there, how he wants to retire a Cowboy, and how much he loves playing for the team.

I'd in particular point out the half hour segment BET did on Terry in 04, when he was filmed in the Cowboys trophy room, aming other Valley Ranch locales, and expressed quite clearly what it means to him to be a Cowboy.

PS To those people who have IMed me asking me if I was deliberately posting under TWO names...one as "GlitzCowboy" trashing TG so I could then come back and long-windedly defend him, lol but nope....

...tho it is hard to believe anyone could be so consistently over the top as this guy is. :laugh1:

He's such a pro. And he has passion for the game. I'm glad he's a Cowboy.

Bravo, Bravo..Well said.

Glenn's knee injury has not gone away. We can't tell how he is feeling because he doesn't talk about it, but if the pain is constant and he needs to rest it from time to time, his career may soon be over.
