Glenn's knee injury has not gone away. We can't tell how he is feeling because he doesn't talk about it, but if the pain is constant and he needs to rest it from time to time, his career may soon be over.

The total nonsense of the bone-on-bone injury is what needs to be put to rest.

It was a fantasy football site that came out with that crap.

Glenn's injury was to the quad muscle forcing the kneecap out of the groove, causing irritation and then pain.

But it's already better...strengthening the quad and rest was enough.

I would say he is close simply because we don't really have a long history of great receivers and he is already high on the list.

The top of our list (Irvin, Pearson, Hayes and Hill) are very good, but there has always been a big dropoff after that. Glenn is among the next level of Cowboy receivers all time, and would probably be the next guy if he hadn't been injured so often.

Still, Glenn's best years and the bulk of his career stats were built in New England, so the Patriots have a big claim to Glenn. But of course, the present team gets some consideration over the past, and if Glenn stays here and is productive through the life of his contract he truly will be a Cowboy.

I totally agree with this post! Very well said, Stautner!

How many more seasons do you think Glenn can go? Glenn is 32. McCardell retired at 36, Jimmy Smith at 37, Rod Smith is 36 and Isaac Bruce is 34 and both are still going. It'd be nice if Glenn could go as long as those guys, especially considering he was once viewed as a fragile WR.
When did McCardell retire?

NO...I don't consider him a career Cowboy yet...he's a Cowboy because he's on our team and is a great guy and a great receiver, but I don't view him as a Cowboy yet...however, he is close.

6 years in NE
1 year in GB
4 years in Dallas

By the time he plays out his contract, and if he doesn't go elsewhere to finish his career, then I'll view him as a career Cowboy.

To be honest, I still don't think of Hershall Walker as much of a Cowboy...I'm not sure why I feel that way.

Funny, I feel that way also! He was a great player...but, if you really think about it...Hershall Walker was probably the greatest Cowboy player of all time! He got us some great draft picks!

It's not funny you wouldn't think of Herschal as a true Cowboy - he wasn't here that long.

PS To those people who have IMed me asking me if I was deliberately posting under TWO names...one as "GlitzCowboy" trashing TG so I could then come back and long-windedly defend him, lol but nope....
:laugh1:

Are you kidding me? Seriously? That's gotta be borderline.....something, I'm sure.

After playing for so many teams? I say yes. I will always consider him a Cowboy. He has been a great player for the team and never caused any trouble. Now all he needs is a ring.

How can he not be considered a Cowboy. An elite receiver pissing in the alley by a dumpster. Give him some props for keeping it real and not wearing depends like those heterosexually challenged Giants players.

Glenn has outstanding speed. That's going to get a bit worse as time goes on.

Lucky for him, he has good hands and runs god routes.

I think barring injuries he can go at least 2 more seasons being quite productive.

I don't understand why people think that just because they were signed through free agency, instead of homegrown, that they're not real Cowboys. I just don't understand that.

I don't cheer for Flozell Admas any more than I do Kyle Kosier just because Kosier wasn't drafted by us.

I don't care more about Roy Williams more than I do Aaron Glenn because Aaron is a "hired gun." BS. Aaron wears the star, he's a Cowboy.

To me once they put on the Star, they're Cowboys.

Yes, I was kidding, of course....tho there are a few individuals highly amused at the speed with which I kneejerk back...

which is probably just as "borderline". :laugh2:

Hey don't expose me in your quest for posting retribution. Besides I spelled the p word correctly. That was your problem. But now that I know who my friends are you don't have to worry about it any more. I am using voiding.
