Is the Broncos defense enough to beat Panthers?

The Cowboys defense held Carolina to ONE offensive touchdown. Panthers kicked 5 field goals and had 2 defensive TDs.

Denver's D is much much better than the Cowboys, but more importantly even a crippled Manning is 100 times better than the crap we had running our offense. This game should be much more competitive than fans realize.

Can Cam stand in the pocket long enough to let receivers come open and then throw the ball as hard as he can to them, something QB's are not supposed to get away with in the NFL but he sure as hell is. We'll see.

Carolina is better than Denver, but not so much so that they can make stupid mistakes and still win the game.

Denver wins. Manning will
Retire like his boss. I think this will
Be the first SUPERBOWL to go to overtime. And Demarcus Ware wins the MVP. If I wrong and Carolina wins, they will not cover the spread.

There is no way in heck that someone other than manning wins mvp if they win.

He could be 10 for 18 and 100 yards 2tds and 1 int and STILL HE IS GETTING MVP. PLEASE! Lol

I think the secret to Carolina is actually how multiple they are in their run game. They do a lot of variations of similar things in the run game and they do them very well. This is what allows Cam to find people downfield and have success on the read option plays. You're going to see D. Ware and Miller slowed down because of all the reading of the backs they have to do, unless they come up with a plan to dedicate someone to Cam. This opens the underneath, but Trevathan is pretty quick and good in coverage so they stand a chance more than most teams. They probably double Olson and give safety help over Ginn, or maybe they put Talib on Olson to free up a Safety. I think Denver has the players that can get enough pressure and hold up against the run. You have to be solid in all areas to match up with the Panthers. Most teams have a weak link that ends up killing them... like terrible Safeties or no pass rush.

Very interesting.

I take it as... manning has to have a career day... the defense won't be enough to win on their own.

There is part of me who would like to see Peyton go out on top but the more I think about this game the more I'm inclined to think this is going to be a blowout. Denver defense is good but I think if they come after Cam he will gash them with big runs, if they try and contain Cam he will eat them alive. As for Panthers defense they have been a big play defense all season I think they will be all over the less mobile QB in Manning and force turnovers in this game. Just my 2 cents

how old are you people?

this is Ravens vs Giants all over again.
Broncos are the Ravens.
during the next two weeks someone on the Panthers will get injured or arrested for something too and weaken the team just like
Atlanta v Denver.

Carolina has no clue whats about to happen and Peyton wont let Seattle 2.0 happen again.

plus...they just beat a team far superior to the Panthers,twice..with a back up and a starter.

the Super Bowl was the AFC game.

all he Panthers did was have a good day against a team missing 3 defensive starters

:lmao2::lmao:Good lord

Manning was in big trouble, but it was Newton that was in BIG trouble. That Denver D was as good as I have ever seen, and not just the pass rush but at every level and every position.

Relentless.
Every snap it seemed like they were closing in on Cam!

So, the answer to the OP question is a resounding.... YES!

yeah and since the run game didnt work well I think cam should have dropped back to pass,
and instead of looking for WR, look for a place to run and just run a lot early on and that might
have slowed down the rush.

yes that is the way to look at it, you may never be there again.
To me the denver players seemed more motivated and hungry to win or play great.
Carolina just seemed like they showed up thinking it would be another easy win, and were not
ready mentally.
And they didnt adapt, or change anything, just kept doing what they were doing .
and they did move the ball, but then had fumbles and dropped passes and int stop them.
