Top 5 at least but off the top of my head I am picking San Francisco as the best defense. Philadelphia, Tampa, Green Bay and Buffalo have good arguments as well. The Cowboys pass rush is probably the best in the game because they can send as much as 9 players when you count the the safeties and linebackers after the quarterback when they put Tank and Armstrong at tackle.

As usual the Cowboys defense has stopped three top 10 quarterbacks and the excuse is their offensive lines are in shambles.:rolleyes:

Who they have played and beaten still matters.

PHL is balanced between run and pass and O and D so they will be the best test since TB. They also have the best OL the D will have faced to date, if Kelce is playing. Best set of receivers as well.

They do not need to be the best; they are good enough to go deep in the playoffs the way they're playing as long as they can stay healthy.
Cincinnati and Tampa has better receivers and quarterbacks. Their defenses is also on the same level as the Eagles. Offensive line wise the Eagles have the better line. I think Cincinnati, Rams and Tampa would beat the Eagles if they played them today.

Living in TB, they are pretty dang good also. Buffalo's offense is amazing and helps their defense. Places pressure on other offenses to be near perfect. That is tough and leads to big plays for that defense. For some reason, I believe the Eagles are a paper tiger. I believe we walk into the dirty birds house and knock the snot out of them. Can we keep it up all season? Hopefully!

I wouldn't argue against the Bucs. It's why I give Dak a pass also. First game of the year with no reps playing that defense was a perfect storm for disaster.

how many good olines you think are just sitting around? No team has studs from LT through RT. All we have to do is find your scrub lineman and then line Micah over him. No team is gonna be safe from this pass rush, not enough good linemen in the league

That theory will be tested one way or the other. Can out D continue to dominate against great Olines and great run games.

I also want to see how they start playing in the second half. Our Offense last year through the first 6 games was considered one of the best EVERYONE was talking about SB. Then the second half of the season they went missing. After 23 + years I'm still holding my breath!

There was an obvious reason for the decline. The oline went in the toilet and we had some big injuries. That can change everything.

Who is Toadie?
Dakota " Toad Hunter" Prescot is the best frog gigger in the NFL. It's amazing how he can beat the TOADS in the league, BUT when he's competing against AVERAGE teams he falls flat on his face. The Cowboys are very fortunate that he was injured against Tampa because if he had played in this entire season there is a very good chance that this team would be 1-4 or 2-3 at best. R-u-s-h has been asked to play conservative and try to limit turnovers, which he has done an excellent job doing both. Toadie's got off to a start in 2021, but by the time the second half rolled around he went missing in action because DC's in the league were able to find his weaknesses and they exploited them each and every game. Unfortunately, his troubles have followed him into the 2022 season..............................

i think a toad ate your brain if you believe this
Toadie NEVER shows up in meaningful games, so what makes you think he would be any different now??????? Just because the Boys have an outstanding defense it still doesn't factor in TOADIE'S lousy play. But, if you want to think that the frog gigger is competent QB then go for it........LOL!

Was watching Richard Sherman on The Volume podcast and he was asked why the Rams offense, with "Mastermind" offensive guru McVay, looked so pedestrian against Dallas. He had this to say:
"Well, they were going against a Dan Quinn defense. That's the first part. Dan Quinn is legitimate. We went to 2 Super Bowls with Dan Quinn, and guess what, he went to the next Super Bowl after that with the Atlanta Falcons. He knows how to call a defense and he especially knows how to call the front."

I say No. Not yet: that honor goes to SF presently. That D is completely dominant when healthy.

However- this Cowboys D has the most room for growth of the top units in the NFL by season's end. I think we are on the verge of being a consistent scoop and score, pick 6 D. QB's are terrified to pass.

This is maybe not the best- but the most DANGEROUS unit in the NFL- and it can still get better.

Top 3 for sure. People say it's San Francisco but they have a pretty good offense and run game as well. Dallas's defense is their offense. So I'll give it to the Boys.

We are a top 5 defense. I do think SF has the best defense in the league but if our guys stay healthy and we see improvements in Sam Williams + others we could be the #1 defense in the league. We have that type of potential

I say SF has a slight edge because their Run D has been as consistently good as their Pass D/Pass Rush - they’re giving up over 40 YPG LESS than Dallas on the ground right now…that’s pretty damn dominantz

It's a very good one. Long way to go. Dont have to be the best defense for a Super Bowl.

This is quite possible the dumbest thing I've ever read. Sadly, it looks like you put a lot of effort into coming up with this just to play the role of a troll. You invented an idiotic nickname. You created a storyline to try and make it stick. You actually said the team was fortunate that he was hurt. That's a reflection on who you are, not who he is. It's brutally exposing that you put so much effort into something that has absolutely no intellectual value.

I'm not happy with the way Dak played at the end of last year and in the playoff game. I'm not happy with how he looked in his first game this year, either. I can understand why some of the fans aren't happy with his play. I don't need a ridiculous nickname to say that. I'm open to people that want to actually talk about why. Was it the injury? Was it the play calling? Has he dropped off for some other reason? All potential conversations with merit. There is no where to even engage with your nonsense unless someone just agrees with you. You're obviously not open to listening to anyone who might have a different opinion.

If you've turned off the ability to listen and speak thoughtfully and respectfully, there's discussion to be had. It would be more akin to listening to you shout at wallpaper until it peels loose from the wall.

As far as pressure goes, we might be. Not sure we're quite at the top on coverage, but we're pretty strong in that area. I think we lag behind some on our ability to stop the run. That should really get tested in this next game.

I think this is a good assessment. But being able to badger the QB and play good coverage forces most teams into trying to grind out drives ... which they aren't equipped for.

Plus, we have a lot of young players getting better each week and some vets coming back from injuries, so I like our chances to keep improving.
