Is the glass half empty or half full?

This has "ST" draft written all over it. I'm afraid Jerry is gonna force it and disregard his board to pick DLs whether it's a reach or not. Stick to the board and hope we can upgrade the DL. SOMETHING TELLS ME JERRY WILL SCREW THIS UP!!

Maybe Jerry's history of screwing things up is telling you Jerry will screw this up.

It's why I'm really hoping he makes a significant FA addition or two to the DL. Even though I don't think this team has any chance to win anything with the current core, I don't want him going into the draft so desperate for defensive linemen. Those guys taken in May are our future. I don't want the current DL debacle effecting that.

Denver signed Ware because they are at the doorstep knocking on the door of a Lombardi.

DeMarcus never had a chance to see the Hall of Fame like he does tonight.

The glass is broken.

What core?

Mainly the head coach and QB. We need change at the head coaching position. One that forces the GM to change. Even if that happened tomorrow it would take too much time to get the talent up to snuff to be a real contender while Romo still has throws left in his arm or hits left on his back, IMO. So a new QB would be in order too.

This hands on Jerry, Jason, Romo core can't win anything. The last guy on that list is blameless. The middle guy is a complete unknown. The first guy has the blood of this franchise on his hands.

According to you, no head coach can win here. Your idol Parcells couldn't win a playoff game.

Everyone, reread that line in a Morgan Freeman voice. You're welcome.

It's both half empty and half full. That's what 500 means. I can easily see us getting better this offseason, if that's the question. And I can see us getting worse, too, if we're not careful.

500 is the best it's going to get with our trainee head coach and no name defense

Do you guys seriously think we are going to the SB in the next couple of seasons?

Pretty clear Ware didn't think so

When we had the other guys as coaches the glass was half but it was draining out, now since Garrett has taken the reins, the drip has been picking up pace and the glass is half full, on it's way to becoming full. Our defense only has one way to go and that is up, but it will be better than anyone is expecting except me

Yep, the PROCESS is on full speed ahaad. And the glass is filling up. The problem is that its at the pace of a glass sitting under a leaky faucet collecting the dripping water.

Half empty to me. Cowboys made the right move with Ware IMO but all of their moves seem arbitrary and void of any plan. I could be wrong but track record of Jerry and co. says that this is rolling dice for this crew. The only thing that would make me more optimistic is if they conveyed some sort of system or philosophy they are committed to. Then I could assess their moves against that philosophy. Till then, they could find success but I think it would be by accident or by abnormally good fortune.

You have a very good perspective! Trust in Jerry is not a good thing!

There's a plan in place but what folks here don't understand is that it's not the same plan as what the fans have in mind. Our (fan) plan: draft well, develop talent and rebuild for a run. Jerry's plan: hope Romo still has something left in the tank to put on a good, competitive "show", keep the stadium filled and keep the cash register churning.

Hey, at least we have the "look at the man in the mirror" stories after each season to look forward to.

Spot on. The free agency period cannot be like the 2009 special teams draft where depth is the flavor.

Going into a draft desperate at one position is never smart. It makes it worse when that particular draft is not especially strong in what you need (i.e. pass rushers).

Once you get past Clowney and Mack who will be long gone, there is a bunch of fluff. Kony Ealy? Dee Ford? Scott Crichton? Trent Murphy? Marcus Smith? Kareem Martin? Chris Smith? Demarcus Lawrence? Michael Sam?

Anyone willing to bet any of these are sure things capable of stepping right in and producing? Do you want to have to draft one of them?

Chances are we will have to force it at DE, but it does not have to be that way inside.

I think the real question would be if this glass ever gets over halfway again with Jerry Jones being the only one pouring the water.

The real deal will be when there is another Jerry Jones radio show. If he tries to sell these moves as anything other than we are approaching free agency inside out, it will be easy to tell what the situation is.

Let's be honest here and not sugar coat it.

No matter what he says you have already made up your mind on what is going on.

Most of us have.
