Is there a chance Marcus Lucas makes the team?

Seems like a crazy thought, or at least would have at one time, but is there a chance Lucas makes the team? He has had a strong preseason and appears to catch everything and run good routes. I don’t know if he has any practice squad eligibility left.
If Jarwin and Schultz remain out injured up to cut day, then yes it is possible.

They used Jumbo Joe as a TE several times in the Texans game and not always on 3rd or 4th and short if I recall correctly.

Lucas has been on practice squads a year longer than Showers and they reported that Showers is out of eligibility. It is possible that Lucas was only in camp with teams some of those years and not on a practice squad which would mean he might still have eligibility.

For the Cowboys I prefer not to use a roster spot on Lucus; however, on a personal level I would like to see him get a snap in a real nfl game after his perseverance seeking an nfl job with 9 different teams over 6 years.

well given Schultz and Jarwin are injured and Witten looks more Purple then ever after a series LOL we might need to carry one more..is he good enough we cant stash him on the PS? I think we might put him on the PS.. he looks ahead of RICO in his development but abit raw still..

on another subject...how would ya like to be the Colts and Texans this morning? lol...But damn...the poor colts. My heart goes out to that fanbase. Its like getting left at the alter at the last minute. A TOTAL SHOCK AND GOBSMACK.

Yes McElroy had a neck injury I think was what they called it. No idea how minor or severe.
NO he tried to play with shoulder injury from last weeks game and it was reaggravated.. he wont make the team, injury settlement most likely..

I can understand holding on pass plays. I don't like them, but in many cases it prevents a loss of down and somewhere between 6-10 yards. But holding on run plays drives me absolutely crazy! Just stop. Put a hat on a guy and end it. This aggravates me so much that I still remember that game we lost to Detroit about 6 years ago for this very reason.
Especially the holding calls away from the play. Come on man, you know the play call and it’s going away from you. All you have to do is engage for a second the guy your blocking won’t be a part of the play. No need.

I think his practice squad eligibility is up. He’s been on practice squads before.

Tell you what I didn’t like. The holding calls on our O-Line. Every descent run play we had was called back. Some looked like a border line calls but rookies or not Colombo needs to get that taken care of.

The refs are instructed to call every little thing during the preseason. The same thing is going on league wide. Most of those calls will not be made during the season.

Let us hope not. Was taking points away and or killing drives.

Dallas has *DEPTH* at TE as far as pass catchers go...

The big question is, aside from Witten, can Jarwin/Schultz/Lucas be good enough in pass protection & run blocking.?

As pass catchers, they look like the could be #1-#3 on this team, but as blockers/protectors, I'm not sure where they stand

I'm not going to be popular buuutttt.........Witten should not have been brought back.

I'd let him go. Thanks for your time, enjoy the HOF and go help raise your kiddos. Enjoy your family.

I think the referees saw the Cowboys were in full control of the game and didn't want it to get worse than it already was.

6 years is a long time if teams don’t see anything. He’s listed as 1 inch shorter and 6 pound heavier than Schultz, so I don’t think a size difference is the problem.

Lucas is a much bigger Noah Brown. Actually came into the league as a WR at 218 at the combine, and switched to TE after a couple of years. Now up to 250. 6-4.

Too bad he can't get on the PS. I liked the look of him.
