Village of the Damned was actually remade in 1995 and starred Christopher Reeve. I do not think it was done as well as the 1960's original.

Interesting idea! The original is a classic, but I can see where it could've been directed better, and had some better dialogue. With today's special effects, it could definitely be improved.

The Warriors is a great choice. I gotta go with Close Encounters of The Third Kind. It is an absolute classic indeed, but with all of the Alien UFO/UAP talk I think it could be done well in the right hands, like Christopher Nolan or Denis Villenuve.

It's tough to remake classics though for sure.

Really? Didn't know about Highlander. Not sure about Henry Cavill though. I'm sure he'll do well in the tough guy parts, but his range of emotion seems limited.
