Don't get me wrong Red, I'm not entirely disagreeing with you. I understand that our defense is our weakest link. Yet, there's simply no clear cut formula in the last eight years that guarantees playoff success. Some good offenses have won and some good defenses have won, but to be crowned champion it takes more than being good on one side of the ball. In my opinion, the great teams that have some semblance of balance, are who wins titles these days. Time Of Possession is not just a stat that supports the offense but also all three phases. Defense has to get stops, special teams has to roll and the offense has to sustain and score touchdowns efficiently. As scrub as this Defense is, they've been offering up more stops and turnovers than last year which has helped the offense find rhythm and not play on its heels every game. Seattle had a historically great defense last year but also ranked 4th in rushing. Also, Russell Wilson is a special player that keeps that offense balanced and going. Again, we're just throwing opinions on here. I certainly hope that Dallas goes hard next year in trying to attain special players for this defense. We're built a lot like Seattle was in 2012. I knew in 2012 that after their season was over that they'd be monsters the following season. I wasn't wrong. I think Dallas has that same opportunity and every bit of a shot this year if the cards fall right.
