You don't have to shut them down you just need to put up more points at the end of the game. Defense is not dominate yet they are 4th in take away in the NFL. Hell give them some credit for that.

the post was in response to matchup well and not matching up well...not can we win...yes we can win...doesnt mean its a good matchup for us

Those takeaways are huge. I remember GB having the worst D in the league statistically in every category except that one and they won the superbowl.

Those scrubs were gifted a quick 21-0 lead and managed to get steamrolled for 24 points in basically one quarter of play. We probably lose that game going away if the offense didn't respond with a great drive after the Romo fumble.

Gifted? Okay. Lol. Romo was gifted one on one Dez Td's but, that doesn't mean he didn't make good plays. The defense started off well, their offense picked up pace going no huddle and a top 10 offense scored quickly on us. We also responded with turnovers, sacks and the offense responded with points. The thing is, if they score 24 and we score nothing, it's just as much on the offense as defense. The same goes the other direction. The defense has to get stops for Dallas to respond with offensive play to get ahead when you're down by 3. I'm not saying we've some juggernaut defense but, they're exponentially better than last year.

That was their 2011 team that when 15-1 and flamed out in the playoffs.

Their 2010 Super Bowl team had the #1 pass defense in the NFL (67.2 opposing QB rating).

History tells us the teams with the greatest passing differential have the best chance of winning the Superbowl. Not sure who that is this year -- maybe Seattle or NE?

GB is a good team I would say if they played Buffalo 5 times they would beat them 4 out of the 5. I said at the start of the thread that GB would be the favorite in the NFC to go to the SB. How would Dallas match up one by continuing to be physical along the front lines to control the ball and defensively they would have to come up with some big plays. While this defense has giving up yards they have also created turnovers which is why they are ranked 4th in the NFL in take aways they would have to make some plays. I think we all know this is not a defense who will carry a team but it is a defense that will hustle to the ball and finds ways to make some big plays

I believe you're thinking about the 2011 season when the Packers went 15-1 having a defense that ranked almost as bad historically as the Cowboys defense last season. Rodgers carried that team and won the league MVP but the Packers went one and out in the playoffs losing to the Giants.

They'll be favored if they get home field throughout the playoffs. I don't see anyone beating them at Lambeau where they've been dominant however on the road they've looked pretty ordinary.

True, I will say the playoffs since the are a 1 game deal loser goes home the only thing that matters is what you do on that day. Thus far Cowboys have been unbeatable on the road. Should that game happen where Dallas had to go to GB I have no doubts that GB would be favored however I think there are things Dallas can do to give themselves a chance to win. I hope we get a chance to find out.

The Cowboys are undefeated on the road but made 3 great escapes to reach that point. They overcame a 21 point deficit on the road to St Louis to pull that game out. They overcame a 10 point deficit to Seattle to win that game and overcame an 11 point deficit on the road to the Giants to pull that game out in the final 3 minutes. I don't see them overcoming a double-digit deficit to Green Bay at Lambeau with Aaron Rodgers at QB. The fewest points the Packers have scored at home this season was 26 vs NE. They had two 40 plus point games at Lambeau and back to back 50 plus point games. They're a scary team at home and a team the Cowboys don't match up well with. I would like to see the Packers end up in Seattle in the playoffs they'll lose there. Not saying the Cowboys can't give the Packers a game but in the end the Packers would win going away.

Green Bay at home is probably the closest unbeatable. NE as well, they're on fire right now.

I don't think there's a snowballs chance in hell this defense could stand up to GB in Lambeau.

I think we could stand up to them, but I think we'd lose by maybe 10. Not a blowout, but I don't think we could beat them at Lambeau

As long as I have watched the NFL and playoffs what is suppose to happen and what happens are not always the same. There are so many examples of teams who can't lose who sat at home and watched the SB. I will agree GB will be the favored going into the playoffs to say they can't lose at home sure they can.

The Pack are the anti-Cowboys.

You don't want to play them at Lambeau.

The Cowboys are nothing special at home.

I just don't get that! They are a different team on the road.

We've beat the best team in the NFC in their own house. No excuses can be given. I think this team is a Superbowl contender. I can't believe I just said that but, it's possible. Who are you scared of and why?

To hear some, any team Montana led was unbeatable in a play-off game.

Of course not. But Green Bay is still my pick to win it all (after us, of course ;)).

Seattle wasn't slumping when we played them. They had already beaten GB and Denver in their house when we went up there and whooped em.

Exactly, I am sick and tired of hearing we beat Seattle when they were not playing well. Bull,we went in their house and totally punched them in the mouth as they were totally outplayed. Enough said!!!.
