Is there something wrong with our strength and conditioning program

Wearing the same helmet doesn't seem to have changed the number of concussions either up or down. I think its some stupid rule they have in place for perception and until I see a study saying otherwise, I'll continue to think that.

Honestly, the NFL is missing the point altogether. The danger of the NFL isn't concussions, it's continuous subconcussive impact to the head that is messing up the players.

I find it interesting that players have to wear the same helmet all year to "prevent concussions", but we're seeing more than ever. Seems like one every game now. Were that many players hiding them 5 years ago?

I think much of that is any sign of a concussion players are forced to undergo examination for concussion. I think only thing that has changed is NFL no longer lets players determine if they are alright to go in and just the fact they are a lot more cautious with head injuries

5 years ago a guy like Sean Lee wouldn't have come off the field. They took his helmet away and forced him to go get examined. He wanted to stay in there, and 5 years ago he would have been able to because unless the player was asking out they'd leave him in.

You think Randle is suffering from some kind of synaptic pull? It's like a tweaked hamstring, it just seems to linger.

If you mean like a pulled brain, then I agree. It looks to me like he gets a pulled uterus in the second half, and that reaching one handed over the pile from the one shows some lingering brain damage.

true but the NFL has also seen lawsuits from former players who charged them with negligence when it comes to head injuries. The mindset is you don't leave it up to a player who has a head injury to determine if he is fine or not. When I was young and playing they used ammonia capsules when you got hit in the head and things are foggy and of course NFL did the same. Now days with research they have been doing on long term effects of concussion the NFL is not willing to risk it. I can't blame them

I can't either, but it's one reason that the concussions seem so much more prevalent now. They are being recognized. 5 years ago they'd just think a guy was a little loopy and he'd play through it unless he told the coaches he needed to come out. Lee would have finished the game and then we'd hear later (maybe years later) that he didn't even remember the second half or something like that - we've heard players say that type of stuff before.

How do you train to prevent broken bones? Hamstrings and maybe groin strains could be a result of training methods but the other probably are not.

Lifting weights does increase bone density.. Just sayin.
