Is there something wrong with us?

Yep, it's time, Mk2. It's time we all look in the mirror and just be done. This is grown to be quite silly. It would be one thing if we actually cared about the owner, the players, the coaches...but most of us don't. We complain about ALL of them, in some way or another. So, we just love The Star and its colors.

I've somewhat detached myself mentally from this team the last few seasons because I know the organization does not care for winning in the same way that many around the league do. If Jerry was doing his best to win championships and make his city proud that would be one thing however, he has proven time and time again the only thing that matters is blowing up his own ego. If they still lost while Jerry was putting his ego aside doing everything in his power to try and bring this team success, I would be ok with it but the way he runs this train wreck is despicable.

There is nothing about this organization from the last 25 years that should warrant any kind of respect from anybody. I'm actually a little disappointed in myself for being such a determined supporter because nothing about this organization mirrors my own values and how I try to live my life and I'm sure most of us can say the same.

We can watch from a distance. I’m a huge football fan. I’m going to watch football every weekend regardless . And Cowboys are my local regional game on Free TV.

But we can stop our financial support. Buying merch and tickets. That’s the only thing that gets his attention. I say this every year and most don’t listen. Lol

Tbh, im a football fan. So ima watch football regardless. Was a Cowboys fan since i was like 10. Watching, learning and root for my boys is a good past time for me when the season starts. But im not going to lie. The past several years my interest with this team has been on the decline. For many years Ive never miss a Cowboys game. This year was probably the worst. I can say 3-5 games I didnt bother to watch as I filled my day with other activites. Jerruah really needs to make changes because within the next 20 years all the OG cowboys fans will move on. These new gen fans do not have a reason to hold on this team besides it being a family favorite. Chips bring new fans to support the revenue. Soon all the hype will be gone. You already see no one really mentions Staubach anymore, its about the triplets now. Only those OG fans bring him up. Soon the memories of the triplets will be lost. JJ will be gone no telling about SJ and this team might be the next raiders.

Loyalty to what, ksk? To whom are you loyal to? Or is it the just The Star? The colors? The jerseys?
The team. That means I suck it up through the good and the bad. I'm also a long time Stros fan, and was a Spurs fan 70s-2002. Casual Basketball fan, yes. Left that game behind when I saw the horrific way the refs were manipulating games. I put up w/ it in football n baseball as I'm huge fans of both.

It is not in me to change allegiance. Sure, when we suck, I often pick a short termer to root for, but that's just marking time til we emerge again. This year, I think I'll go for the Rams. Nice story w/ Staffy, I'd like to see him win one.

Boring super bowl would be a KC TB rematch. Not sure I'd even watch.

We just have to take a step back and take it for what it is.

Don’t get caught up in the hype if you’re going to be all down afterwards. This organization isn’t worth it anymore.

We are what we have become and it is what is.

The Dallas Cowboys are not the franchise we all grew up with. Jethro isn’t going to live forever. Most of us will outlive him.

In my entire life I am not one to use the word hate likely , it’s generally been reserved for very few since it’s a toxic mind set. That being said.
I hate Jerry
I hate coaches
I hate the entire team
I hate myself for being a fan

I think I am almost done after 40+ years

You’re not, because like the rest of us, you’ll be back next season… and at some point you’ll be fooled yet again into thinking that maybe this is the year.
Sorry to break the news, but you’re here for life :D

NFL teams make most of their money from TV contracts, which have now reached the $100 billion range.

I stopped wasting money on this team a decade ago, but it doesn't even make a dent in its overall earnings.

I think it’s worse than that. I think he does get he’s part of the problem but refuses to get out of the way.

He has to. He even admitted he’d of fired a GM with his record this era.

He’s the Captain of the Titanic and willing to take ship down with him cause he knows the life preserves will be waiting for him at the ticket booths and cash registers to fund him all over again. And who could blame if everyone still had their hand out.

It’s like I’ve been saying for years. Who are the bigger fools. Fool me once shame on you . Fool me twice and again and again, shame on me .

Im all for supporting a dormant school or franchise as long as they are doing everything within their power to win. This frikin egomaniac isn’t . And all on our dime. He’ll squirm his way around this again after a nice vacation on his super yacht. Rinse and repeat. Yeeeehawwwww Cowboy fans .

He knows and he admitted to f’ing it up with Jimmy all those years ago.

“I've never been able to know why I f----d it up," confessed Jones. "No, I can't answer those questions."

Understood but we could reach fans who could have a greater financial impact. To me the fight is always worth the effort. It’s the reason I came on these fan sites almost 15 years ago.

It's your team. It's a childhood thing. Not many people find their team as adults. But every adult has to at some point realize that, "their team," just plays a game. It's exciting to watch and hope your team does well, but it's just a game in the end.

If it's affecting your life more than that, then yeah, I would suggest taking a step back.

Problem is we won't live out his offspring

My allegiance and loyalty to my great '70s cowboys teams keeps me following this team in spite of what it has turned into.

Great men like Roger staubach and Tom Landry built the legend of the Dallas cowboys.

I was privileged enough to watch one of the greatest teams in sports in its heyday and I will continue to follow this team to the end

Most of us have been fans for many years and I know for me I just can't pick up and invest and start rooting for another team. So I just hope for the best but expect the worst. The sad part is that people really view Cowboy fans as a joke anymore. At least that's what I get because it seems everybody knows we will find a unique and embarrassing way to fail every year. Sad to say they are right and I expect the same myself.

And that’s why it’s probably going to take at least another generation of this before the Cowboys lose their popularity . We still have fans from two glory eras following the franchise because of past history.

They’re my local team. I’ll always follow and watch them . But it’s important to call it out for what it’s become. I don’t indulge myself financially like I used to as a result. If more followed suit we could get his attention. It’s his biggest fear. An apathetic fanbase losing interest.

It’s happening at the local level . We just need to lose more of the national following.

And why he works so hard out in front promoting and selling his product. He’s winning so far.

Now that the team has reached a new low for many of us, by complaining about the refs after a playoff loss, when they simply should have been more disciplined (half the penalties were pre-snap). And of course they just needed to play better too, every single one of them (except for maybe the Special Teams which had a good day)... Anyway, now that the Cowboys as an organization is sinking lower in many of our eyes, it's time to ask, why are we still fans???

Many (or, most) of us:

*hate the longtime owner
*don't want the QB (and some downright dislike the QB)
*hate the culture
*don't trust most of the coordinators
*dislike Jerry's World (the stadium)
*don't even like many of the players (thank goodness for Micah, as he's a unanimous favorite, but no one else is)
*AND most of us don't live anywhere near Dallas

....yet, we're still fans of this team??? Why do we bleed blue and grey???? For nostalgia???? Do we just adore The Star but almost nothing else about the present Cowboys?

Honestly, have we lost our minds, to put ourselves through this frustration year after year, for an owner, organization and team we don't even like???

I'm starting to think we're all just mentally ill.
Being mentally ill is not a requirement, but it helpso_O

For me I wonder if I subconsciously hate myself and this is how I express that subconscious hatred. I look forward to having someone let me down and have continued this for 26 years. Is it that I subconsciously feel I don't deserve love? Some people cut on themselves, some people drink themselves to death, I watch the Cowboys faithfully. Emotional self abuse probably based on some childhood trauma I have repressed.
