Is this a plan to tank and get the number one pick next year?

No, we dramatically overpaid Dak, and he will be our QB for the foreseeable future. I don't see Jerrie paying two guys $. The reality is we are looking to the 2030's before we are relevant, when we can get Dak's salary off the books, and hopefully Jerrie is off on his yacht and Stephan hands the reigns over to someone who can actually run something.
2028. That's when we have outs from Dak's contract.

There is no plan beyond save money.

That's it.

They didn't know what to do in this situation even though the entire coaching staff was on a one year contract.

They don't know what they're doing tomorrow, let alone a year from now.

There is no secret plan. They don't know what they're doing. It's really very simple.
And that’s the end of the thread here

They are stupid enough to move the pick in favor of their 10 year failed starter.
Absolutely!!!! They're also stupid enough to use the first pick in the draft on Escobar/Trysten Hill/Jaylon/Kelvin/Sammy/Schooner/Mo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will most likely be picking in the top 3 in 2026!
I heard that it’s a good QB draft too!
Hopefully we can drop all the way to #1.
Arch Manning anyone?

Guys, he could be the next Troy Aikman. As I recall he was the number one pick the year he came out.

People get too caught up in their emotions

When healthy, they will win 7-9 games if they do absolutely nothing

I doubt this is ever their plan. Of course, I do not believe they are qualified football executives. And that they are stupid enough sincerely believing they are doing something smart.

That said, it is a question creating additional questions most people (on and off the forum) will not automatically consider or dismiss out of hand. This action would involve purposeful, predetermined intent that will not pay off in the short-term. So:

1. How can a senile person conceive of a plan that non-senile people have wanted in order to improve the team?

2. Why would any old person, who is worried about dying 'soon', pre-plan for an outcome they do not believe they will ever see?

A certain QB whose grandfather and both uncles will be in the Pro Football Hall of fame. Is that the plan.
Lol,
Yes, the plan is to pay a QB 240m, then tank to draft another QB who will be handicapped by enormous amounts of dead money for multiple years of his career and is so badly beaten down in the first couple of seasons that he suffers PTSD!

How pissed would you be if the Cowboys have the 1st overall pick next year and trade it to build around Prescott?
