first of all let me be clear, that i do not want to trade up for D-Mac. when i say this i mean all the way up to #1 in the draft.

ok as far as the trade is concerned, We all know BP is gonna wanna trade out of the #1 pick, so if he offers their #1 for our #22, Barber with Spears OR Canty. is that an acceptable deal?

No, Jerry Jones already said that Barber isn't going anywhere. Without him the deal would never be done...Thank God

Acceptable strictly in terms of draft value? No for Dolphins, Yes for us.
Acceptable in terms of compensation? No, because we're not getting rid of Barber.

There's just too much running back talent in this draft to gamble on McFadden.

It would be different if there were no premiere runners. But that's not the case.

I'm kind of glad Cleveland did better than we thought. Now, we can take a running back for less money, keep Barber and get another premiere player at another position.

It all worked out.

Even IF we were to trade up for D Mac, I don't think we trade with Miami anyway.

I think DMac doesn't go before the 3rd overall pick, the Raiders/Falcons.

BP isn't going to draft DMac, St Louis already has Jackson, maybe the Falcons take DMac, but they need a QB. Plus, the Falcons can still land a very good RB early in Round 2.

The Raiders could draft DMac as they will probably lose Fargas and they can team DMac up with their QB from the 2007 draft.

And of course, next is KC, and they don't need DMac either.

And considering that BP was disapointed in Spears production, I really doubt he is interested.

No

What player would we get that is worth our 22, Barber, and Canty or Spears?

Exactly. There's no player in this draft that has "Break out the bank for him!" kind of talent.

Everyone has Miami taking Chris Long, Sedrick Ellis, or Glenn Dorsey. I'm not sold that they won't take Matt Ryan. The question is, does Parcells believe John Beck can be the franchise QB and does he believe Matt Ryan could be a franchise QB. If he doesn't like Beck and thinks Ryan can be, then I think without question Parcells takes Ryan with the first overall pick.

Parcells knows what a franchise QB means to a team. He drafted Bledsoe with the first overall pick, he brought Testaverde to the Jets, and he brought Testaverde & Bledsoe to the Cowboys before letting him go in favor of Romo.

A reasonable trade would be for us to trade one of our 1st rounders for a low 2nd this year and a 1st next year.

last summer i was all about getting runDMC but now there is to much rb talent in this draft to trade that high, maybe if he fell to 15, but i don't want Canty to go no place.(maybe i'm a little bias on that player)

That depends. There could be a lot to be had THIS year based on what other teams pick. Just our DB needs this draft is loaded with talent. Aqib Talib (FS), Reggie Smith (FS), Cromartie (CB), McKelvin (CB), Cason (CB), Kenny Phillips (FS), and Malcolm Jenkins (CB) all on the board and these are just the DBs. There are many DTs, DE, WRs, and QBs on the board that other teams will be looking at causing the DB choices to slide. Possibly in range for us to grab two!

Outside of DBs, Malcolm Kelly and James Hardy are on the board also.

I think without question, there is talent for the Cowboys to look at THIS year in the first round rather than trading down again.

That deal is so far from acceptable that it isn't even funny. Dallas would be foolish to include Barber or Canty in a trade package. Spears would be alright it the team that wanted him offered more then he is worth but unlikely.

I gotta hand it to you though. One of the more awful trades yet.

Seriously though, you need to take a break from the time you put down the PS3 controller to the time you post something.

I just said it was a "reasonable" trade, I didn't say we would or should do it.

Give me the highest pick possible, all day, every day. You can always trade down for less than "chart" value (Jimmy's famous chart) if you prefer.

Teams may grouse some years about the perceived lack of value at the #1 overall spot but they generally still end up staying there.
