My threshold of what counts as elite is higher evidently. Elite is never 1 game or even 1 season it is the ability to come out year after year and play at a very high level. I hope Dak does have an great game but it would take much more to elevate to the status of Elite.

By your 7th season you are what you are

BUT there is the case of Rich Gannon with the raiders who suddenly blossomed VERY late in his career.

I agree 100% with this assessment.

1 or 2 games don't erase 7 years.

Mathew Stafford just won a SB. He has no playoff success until last year and how many years has he played? . Dak is a damn fine QB and capable of helping this team to a SB. By the way I would say Dan Marino would qualify as an elite QB, he has 0 SB

Could he become the first QB since the 90’s to lead Cowboys to a championship game appearance?

And will he be the difference in finally knocking down that wall?

This is a great opportunity for him to get the monkey not only off his back but the entire franchise .

Can he take us where many have felt we’d probably not go again this era under Jethro?

If he can and if he continues playing his best ball on the biggest stages then he’s likely to vault more into the Elite category so many have denied him without more postseason success.
If he plays the way he played last week. . . . (Totally predicated on that Energy). . . no one can beat us

I knew if he played well against the 8-9 Bucs some of ya'll would just forget everything from the past 7 years.

I called that from a mile a away.
True but this is different . . . He wasn't hesitating and He was throwing Accurate Lasers. Why? . . I don't know where it came from but I like it

There was a passion I had never seen from Him before

Will it continue? I believe so . . . This is that fire that hits certain players this time of year . . . From what I have seen Daniel Jones and Dak Prescott have it. . . Thankfully The Cowboys got Micah and the Boys

Next week shall be a test but I like The Boys

I am a Fan Boy Homer this week . . . It makes it more fun

No.

Keep up.

He never was good enough out of college...

Then..

He's not good enough to keep it going...film will get out on him...

Then...

He's not good enough to win against winning teams...

Then...

He's not good enough to win in the playoffs...

Then...

He's not good enough to win a Super Bowl...

Then...

He's not good enough to win 7 Super Bowls...

Then...

He's not good enough because never went undefeated his whole entire career. 20 years undefeated with 20 Super Bowls...

Do you see a pattern here?

In defense of Stafford he was in Detroit. Dan Marino might be the best QB who never got a ring.

It was different THIS week.

I've seen enough of Dak to know that he can't put it together consistently and I honestly don't see how that changes 7 years in.

You are what you are at that point.

Maybe he will play well Sunday also, we 100% need him to clearly outplay Purdy if we want to win, but eventually with Dak the carriage always turns back into the pumpkin.

`He certainly has the physical talent and has shown the mental part as well

BUT can he do it several games in a row when it matters; like the PLAYOFFS

THAT IS THE QUESTION.

He has a chance to take that step. The 49rs arguably have the best D in the NFL; if he can do as well against them then he is truly on the road.

Bluntly speaking looking great against a 8-9 team does not make you elite
That’s always been the con against Dak. Puts up the numbers during regular season but fizzles out in the playoffs.

And the critics have maintained that without more success in playoffs he could never be considered a more elite type QB despite his numbers and performance in regular season.

Despite whether Dak can raise himself to a more elite status , if he can lead us to our first championship appearance this era he definitely will be elevated amongst Cowboy fans to arguably the most successful QB with a star on his helmet since 90’s.

Which should be enough to dismiss all of the trolls.

But The way He played does . . . Dak was Elite Last week . . . He was locked in

I was excited watching Him play . . . I truly enjoyed it

It is what it is . . . At this point in the week, we are in 2 camps:

Those who wanna be realists based upon 7 years of history of Him being inconsistent and not trustworthy week in and week out . . . some in this camp are being ultra conservative in putting their faith in Him

Then there are those who are claiming this is what he always was and they expect it moving forward and this is the year Dak proves all the Haters wrong

But I say there is a 3rd Camp . . . As a Fan of this team and from what I have seen . . . I would fall within the 1st camp . . . but I do not. There was something different about Dak. Something I never seen from Him before. . . He wasn't lost in His Head . . . He was just living in the moment . . . He played with purpose and without hesitation which translated into His game

If He keeps this Spirit and Energy He will go down as a Cowboy Legend. . . And I will be happy to hear @Rockport gloat for the next 10 years . . . There will be a big smile on my face

Go Cowboys :flagwave:

Sorry not a defense. Burrow went to Cinn not exactly a beacon of excellence. By the way Goff looked pretty damn good in Det.

This is an opportunity for Prescott to put all of this trash talk to bed as well as the criticism whether the Cowboys can ever return to a championship game again.

I like Dak. But he won't be elite in my mind until he's ALOT better in the red zone and two minute drill. We do not need a effffing 14 play drive when there is 2:00 left on the clock.
Not sure what you've been looking at. Cowboys are #1 in red zone efficiency, at 73.33%. Next 2 teams are the Chiefs at 69.44%, and the Eagles at 67.8%. You can't get much better than that.
