with the salary capped on rookie slots there seemed to be more trades in this years draft than we seen in for ever.

Is this the return of teams wheeling and dealing through out the draft
 
Yes. With the supressed rookie pay and the length of years before a player comes un-restricted, going from 5 years to 4 in the recent CBA, you have to get a player you need to play right now.

As shown with the top 25 picks or so. They will be expected to step in and play this year.
 
I sure hope so! Although, I am sure ESPN was pissed when the show ended and hour early and thus, they lost some commercial time.


I loved the pace of the draft...I was keeping track on the spreadsheet but man, it was difficult to keep all of my windows open and still stay on top of things.
 
Yeah, makes the draft much more exciting, plus teams can actually go after a certain player they want easier now.

Let's hope this continues.
 
If this is the norm the nfl draft ratings will shoot through the roof
