Back surgeries are hit & miss. In addition, even if they fix one area, it doesn't mean another area can't suddenly be problematic.

I know many don't like him but I feel sorry for Tiger.

He's a young guy & he's got all these injuries.

It must be extremely frustrating for him.

He's not that young... pushing 40.

And 30's are a prime age for herniated disks and such... just ask me!

Not too mention the ridiculous amount of torque he put on his back.

Disks can and do quite often fail without much prodding and then you add the golfing element to it... makes it considerably more unlikely not to have a disk problem.

Aikman
Haley
Don Mattingly
Moose Johnston

Being in your 30's and have a disc fail in your back goes hand in hand unfortunately. :(

I'm in my 20's but I don't consider 40ish old...but that's just me! I feel sorry for him.

Ok, is Tiger done? Has he officially turned into David Duval?

He shot an 82 today and was all over the place and not just his drives which is his norm. Can the PGA maintain their rankings with a slumping Woods?

So many questions..........I pull for him because he makes gold bearable to watch on TV aside from the majors.

One can only hope he is finished

Why would you feel sorry for a guy who has been blessed with talent and then riches galore, who feels everybody owes him something, who treats other people like crap, and treats the fans like crap unless he knows its a camera moment, who went around banging as many hoes as he could while married, and then after years of PED use (speculation) has his body breaking down?

Feel sorry for him? Hardly. It oughta be a time of celebration!:oldcouple:

I only know about the marriage issues & no I do not like that & I think that's awful. I was glad his wife tossed him aside & got half or whatever she got. No woman deserves that & shame on him.

I don't know how he acts..I've never read much about him in that respect. but I do know as a novice golf fan the game seems better when Tiger is out there. I watch a little here & there but cannot play.

Just as a person I feel sorry for anybody that is hurt. I certainly don't wish him to be hurt or not being able to do what he really excels at. I guess that's just the girl in me,

The thing that made Woods the player that he was was his unyielding, blinding focus. He had the ability to shut everything out, and just focus on golf. Since the car accident and his dirty laundry with his wife became public, he has lost that focus, and to a degree, his invincibility on the golf course. Players no longer feared playing with him on Sundays.

Now, since he is dealing with a back issue, he can't figure out how to swing the club. He now has a lack of confidence to go with his lack of laser like focus on the course. If he is going to play, and stay on the course, he needs to slow his swing down and lessen the torque on his back. Sacrifice distance for precision.

Truthfully, I think he will never be the dominant force that he was again. Can he get to Nicklaus' record? It will be very hard. No major titles since 2008 - and it won't be easier with rising players such as McIlroy and Fowler to compete with.

I think it's cool that Romo is a good golfer. Or was..maybe he doesn't play anymore since he hurt his back. I have not read one way or the other on Tony.

I bet he knows Tiger.

As a person, he is a POS. I cant feel sorry for him because of what he is and how he treats other people. There is no excuse for it. I have a very difficult time feeling any sympathy for a guy that shows open disdain and disrespect for others. But thats just the old over 40 male in me.

The rotation/twisting from swinging a golf club or even a baseball bat is hard on a bad back. I speak from experience as someone who has herniated a disc. Its why Tony gave up his golf.

I don't know anything about him personally. I've never read that but haven't exactly looked for it either. I knew about the divorce because that was plastered everywhere.
