he compliments the hell out of romo all the time. says romo will get his records before he's done and he doesn't care.

yea, the man just can't breathe for his bitterness.

i think some fans are the bitter ones.

There are people -- totally unrelated to this board -- that say he only made those compliments because of the criticism and they didn't find them sincere -- felt forced. I don't know; I haven't seen them really. I really just think he is trying too hard to seem impartial.

maybe. but i think regardless of what troy is being, people are too sensitive and to those people, he can't and won't win so he probably tunes them out and moves on with whatever he was going to say anyway.

would you adjust your patterns or beliefs for a vocal minority who you're not going to make happy anyway? troys been to the rodeo before. i'm sure he knows some people don't like him but i can't name anyone everyone does like.

if i were to guess, i'd say 60+ of what he says about the cowboys is positive. 25% neutral that could be construed as critical and 15% critical.

after all, it only takes 1 negative comment to wipe out the last 10 positive ones. that's why i wish some of the troy bashers would watch the last game on TIVO or something and just count 'em out.

I agree. As for yesterday I'm a die hard Cowboy fan and I had a hard time saying something positive about how we played. Troy is committed to FOX to cover the game and bring his own insight not to be the mouth piece of the Cowboys and he does his job and when he was a member of this team he was committed to his job and went out and did it. I think the guy is a professional in what he does be it as the QB of the Cowboys or now as the #1crew on FOX. This does not mean I agree with every comment he makes but then is there any announcer out there that everyone agrees with all the time?

Aside from Emmitt and Michael, all our ex-players seem against us. Troy, Moose, Dikta.

Yeah he's bitter for winning three Super Bowl rings with us, and getting a HUGE extension before injury force him to retire. He's bitter for winning 90 games from 1990-1999. He's so bitter that he just says everything negative about the Cowboys.

Ridiculous.

i guess some expect troy to go out of his way to 'soften the blow' about our areas of weakness. instead of him saying something like 'julius simply can't get it done' he should say 'any year now julius is going to break out and be a superstar in this league and will donate 10% of his money back into the community..."

What Troy is saying about the Cowboys is something called "tough love". And many people don't want to the hear about "tough love", they just want Troy to suck the bags of all Cowboy players! Well, it does not work that way.

All he said during the game is that the Cowboy have not been playing the best ball during the last 3 or 4 games. So what? It's true!

Is he right there tho?

Yes with an asterisk. But that is besides the point. I don't mind someone having an opinion during game time. I mind that opinion when they keep restating it after everyone has already got it. Aikman is no better than some of those people some of us want to lock out of our house during a game. Does that make a good announcer? When Madden points something bad out about the cowboys, I go yeah he's right. Aikman, it's like S.T.F.U. after hearing it for the 3rd time

Picture yourself watching a Cowboys Game with a Commanders commentator, would u want him to just talk about how good the Commanders are the whole game ?? this guys are professionals so they most talk good and bad things about both teams and not pick sides, and i think Troy does a good job at that.

Maybe he's giving false hope out there to other teams? :laugh2:

In other words, maybe he is saying things like that to make other teams feel good about their team, and to not worry about the Cowboys because they SUCK!

You mean like when Madden would put a circle around nate newtons butt showing the sweat during every fricken Cowboy game he did? Madden himself can go on and on and everyone is the greatest at every single week. Hey John only 1 can be the greatest ever. I like Madden but the guy can come off goofy as hell sometimes.

Considering how infuriating, farfetched, wrong-headed, and implausible this thread is, it kills me that I didn't author it first.

Troy Kenneth Aikman is a multimillionaire, famous, Pro Football Hall of Famer--which primarily came about because of his career with the Dallas Cowboys' franchise.

""Bitter at early retirement?"

Question.

huh?

Nobody is asking for aikman to praise the Cowboys.

Troy Aikman has the right to say anything he wants about the Cowboys as long as he does it in a respectful and professional manner.

He Earned that right by delivering us 3 Superbowls at the expense of his Health.

He is more a Cowboy than anyone on this board could ever hope to be.

And if you do not like that ..... I could care less.
