lol at the thought of Madden not repeating himself (with either positive or negative statements). Sheesh, give most viewers the first two words, and they can complete his sentences by the second quarter.

Games last three hours...all commentators repeat themselves...Troy has complimented and criticized this team when deserved...get over it.

BTW, a three or four weeks before the GB game I remember Troy saying Dallas was the best NFC team on a national radio show. At the time, you could have at least made a case for it being GB, so, no, I haven't seen any evidence that he's bitter or looking for undeserved opportunities to knock this team.

Moose?! Are you kidding me?! He's the biggest homer announcer out there next to Michael!

And I love him for it.

I agree. I remember back in the 2004 game on Boxing Day against the Commanders. When Crayton punked Taylor for the winning TD, you could hear Moose's excitement in his voice.

I think if Troy really is going out of his way to seem unbiased in his broadcasts of Dallas games then it is something similar to the coach/dad who is extra hard on the player/son who he loves dearly. I think Aikman is terrific in the booth. I have always liked Troy when he wasn't wearing that helmet with the star on it. :laugh2:

What would he of all people have to be bitter about? He retired a Cowboys and has 3 SB rings to go with it. It doesn't really matter how many of his personal records might get broken...he still has 3 rings...lets wait to see if someone acheives 4 rings as the starting QB for Dallas before we ask if troy might be bitter....lol.
Really tho, I know its hard to hear sometimes , just because of who he is, but he is a paid announcer for Fox now. Thats his job. He cant sugar coat us or show favoritism or he would be out of a job. You dont hear Terry Bradshaw doing it for the Pittsburg, or Dan Marino doing it for Miami...or Howie praising the Raiders. They are all doing the job they are paid to do and they have to do it fairly or they wouldn't keep them.
The one I cant Stand is Brian Mumbo, Jumbo, bumbo , Gumbo...on the NFL network..who can never get names or teams straight ...he has no passion in his announcements , He stinks all the way around.

Is Troy bitter at the cowboys for early retirement? is that why he seems so anti-cowboys in his analysis.

Aside from Emmitt and Michael, all our ex-players seem against us. Troy, Moose, Dikta.

I never liked his retirement speech "Today I retire from the National Football League" .... instead of "Today I retire from the Dallas Cowboys"

I think he is very Connecticut-ish... snooty if you will.

Its funny you mention that...

I was listening to a PC he held at the stadium a few weeks back...

The reporter posed the questions about Romo and his success and records being broken and Romo's early greatness... the reporter was trying to elevate Romo above Aikman and it started to show.... Aikman cooly responded with
"well all of that is great but it comes down to SB's" and I might add he said it in a way of defending himself without it actually coming across that way... more of MATTER OF FACTLY

I thought it was a good response and like the delivery as well.

That sweat isn't negativity though.

Ummm, if I have to look at a large man sweaty butt...it can't be anything but negitive.

Only if you have problems making your mind stop thinking certain thoughts. It pretty much was a positive compliment, showing how hard that offensive line worked.

I actually think Troy feels threatened more than he was bitter. I remember in 2005 when Bledsoe was on fire mid season he came across as threatened.

And now he see's a team and QB potentially eclipsing a lot of what his teams did.

Mix that in with a bit of trying not to be a Cowboy homer we have what it is.

That all said I think he comes off just giving his opinions.

"Potentially..."? Now there is a vague word.

It'd be at least two or three more years before that theory could be considered valid. The Cowboys have won nothing so far, (unless you're overcome by the "Division Champs" title) - other than the right to play at home until they are either eliminated or advance to the Superbowl.

To quote Mercury Morris "call me when you're in my neighborhood...". Sheesh, they just got onto the highway.

I highly doubt Aikman is intimidated by the "post-Troy" success of this franchise.
