If Cowboys win, I'm beaming all week and seem more enthusiastic but if they lose, i'm over it in a day or two, and looking forward to next game to for redemption.

I ask this because my wife usually leaves during the Cowboys games (due to my ability to laugh, cheer, cry and cuss the entire game). However before she comes home she always checks to see if they won or lost. Says that if they won I will be happy all week, and if they lost then I was just a grumpy sourpuss all week. I think she's exaggerating a little but I will say that at least the first few days of the week are either bad or good based on the outcome of the game. Good because my team won...bad because being in the military means I'm around every type of fan imaginable and I'm the only one who has to hear about my beloved team when they go down.

So how bout you fellow boyz fans...does a loss/win affect your week?

If we lose close or well fought games, yes. If we are sloppy or blown out you have to say we played like crap deserved to lose and move on. So the losses vary. The wins.... Yep, I'm pretty puffed up all week lol.

My plans for the weekend revolve around the Cowboys. I am a little down after a loss esp one we should have won or where we played badly. But I get over it quickly. I don't go out of the country if I can help it during the season and I try not to make plans until after the SB despite the fact we haven't been in awhile. I've never missed a playoff game.

The rest of my Sunday is either good or bad after the game. When I wake up monday morning, life goes on.

I think ESPN's Mike and Mike said it best, when My team (the Boys) win you watch all the other NFL games, you stomp around like your sh** don't stink and ALL the world is your oyster. But when my Boys lose I hate football, I don't care about the stupid Sunday night game. I hate watching NFL network and ESPN for the nest two days.

There would be times when I wouldn't go to work on Monday if we lost and my co workers knew it.

Yes, it impacts my emotions. Obviously its all good when we win. If we lose I work hard to manage my emotions. Easier if I've watched the game on DVR (than live) for some reason. Far less tense cause I know in my mind what's done is done even though I don't know the outcome. Kinda crazy. If its a loss I avoid the Zone for 2-3 days because frankly I know the haters will be out in force. By day 3-4 its safe to read/talk. If its a win, the homers then own the board for 2-3 days and its fun to come celebrate, speculate etc.

I can keep myself from getting too low from a loss by keeping my expectations low. Raised expectations make me vulnerable. :)

In the past, yes.

Now that I'm older and wiser, heck no.

This is spot on.

If its a loss, I usually get over it by the time i finish my beer.
Now a win is different story, I will scour all news channels looking for highlights surf all web sites to read about the win.

Did I just wake up in the twilight zone or is this still the Cowboys Zone:D
I just happen to visit this place every day ... 3 or 4 times a day ... besides the Cowboys just happen to be a sidebar on my way to something more important. ;)

I was going to "like" this post but I couldn't agree with the "getting over the loss" portion. Depending on the way we lost, sometimes it takes me 3 wins to make up for one stupid losss. Take for instance the last Washington game. Tony has a whole lot of completions and correct audibles to make before he gets out of my dog house.

Just a guess but I think even those who claim it does not bother them may be stretching the truth a bit since some of them come here often and if the state of the Cowboys did not matter then why would you spend the time here? If you have a passion for the game and for the Cowboys, winning and losing matters to you. Not saying you go out and take it out on family or the dog but there has to be an emotional letdown for all of us just to a different extent. I'm no where as upset now as I once was when I was much younger but sure losing bothers me and I'm not as upbeat when we lose.

Lastly it is easily seen through out the week win or lose here at the zone. :)

for all the ranting and raving that takes place around here after a loss all i can say to those claiming it does not affect them or on the flip side those who come here claiming we are SB bound after a win is "Come On Man" lol

I used to be crushed when the Cowboys lost. Now I've learned not to make it that much of a big deal.

Usually over it by Thursday after a Sunday lost.

Maybe my Monday morning but thats about it.

Possibly this in some rare cases. Otherwise, I've grown out of letting a game dictate my mood even one day after the fact.

I look forward to a game each week but yeah I can say I am happier if the Cowboys are winning than if they are not winning. If the Cowboys are awful then I won't be depressed but I do feel happier when they win.

For anywhere from ten minutes to an hour after a game my mood can be bad if we lose. Then it's over. I don't let it effect me beyond that because it just really doesn't make sense to me to allow a game that I have no hand in to ruin the rest of my day or week.

Usually no more than ten minutes. The hour is if we lose to the Eagles. I hate the Eagles more than anything so losses to them are a little more aggrivating.
